shaving mugs recommendations

No a Scuttle has a chamber that holds hot water in order to keep the brush/lather warm , A Mug is just that you can fillit with water to soak your brush or mix up some lather in it, a shaving bowl can be easier for that.
so in your opinion and experience whats best to go for?

thanks for the links, the scuttle looks good in the first link but a bit pricey for me,
i dont want to spend too much on it because its going to be my first one i want something to be half decent and that will last

so i'm watching this video by geofatboy on youtube (i've learnt a lot on his vids i like them)

another noob question, so do you essentially need to use a shaving soap/puke with the scuttles? because he puts it on the top of the scuttle

another noob question might sound stupid but whats the difference between the shaving scuttles that have one pole at the top compared to the ones that have three holes at the top? look at this pic, will hopefully make sense what im asking

Another noon question in regards to the scuttle, is it better to have a wider one or!is height more important? You know to get a good lather

Depends what function you want it to perform really.

I like a Scuttle as I like warm lather especially this time of year , I tend to face lather but rest the brush in the scuttle, I do have a mug but only use it to soak the brush. If you like to bowl lather a bowl may be easier as sometimes a mug is a little small.

The final thing to be aware of is some soaps don't react well to being heated in a scuttle

That type of scuttle yes is for a puck , the type @Boycie83 showed you doesn't have holes so you can mix lather in it.
