Shave lounge had some in last week but are now sold out.I emailed Muhle and the response noted that they were hoping for the R96 Jet to be released in early February.
Worth keeping an eye out on their website to.

Must have an unobtainium. Good luck with that this year.Must have, must have, must have........Did I say I must have one?
All too familiar.I was looking on the Muhle web site a few minutes ago and slightly concerned to see that in the Shop section, Muhle are only displaying the Rocca brushes. Not a Rocca razor in sight!

I don't really understand how they could have mismatched expected demand and production capacity so much.
Or, watch your target market get bored and look for another shiny thing.Classic good marketing technique ? Create a demand for a new product, keep it difficult to get and just watch your target market fight to get one. Beats having to work at selling it.

Not their finest hour.
Could be; there are reports of tool marks on the base plate. And as you can see, mine has a small blemish as well. The delay could well be an indication of production and/or quality control issues. There have been reports on other forums of quality and finish flaws with the Rocca razors.
I completely agree. It's taken them 70 years to develop their reputation and to gain a substantive following. It doesn't take much to ruin a company's reputation. I have my fingers crossed.I was lucky enough to pick one up, went into the Gentleman's Groom Room in Dundee, one morning when they had literally arrived. No QC issues and fantastic shaves each time. I have not shaved with anything else since late December 2016.
If there are issues I hope that Muhle sort these out - I appreciate that YMMV, for me this razor has great potential, as an efficient, comfortable shave, while also looking good on the shelf.
It would be a real shame in my view if the Rocca became a failed experiment for Muhle.
