Distilled Witch Hazel works well as a toner and is a lot less expensive than some of the branded products out there. Some people don't get on with the smell but I have seen a number of posts on other forums about adding a couple of drops of essential oil to it in order to create your own scent. Personally, I don't mind the smell and it dissipates very quickly so haven't gone down the EO route yet but it remains an option.
