The Wirral is in East Anglia now? You live and learn

By my reckoning he lived near Stowmarket longer than he lived in The Wirral. He seemed to mention Stowmarket in every episode of Home Truths so I just think of him as being a local boy!

We could do a fappr map, you do not put in your street name for security...just pick the town centre of where you live...

But someone needs to start one, would show how we are spread out

i live in John Peel country. Before he sadly died I saw him in a local restaurant boring the arse off someone telling them about a recent holiday in Kentucky. That is officially my claim to fame.

Oh, and once I took a piss next to David Helfgott.
Isn't he the mad pianist that sings along with his own playing?

There is some way to embed the map and make it larger, can't remember it just now and am supposed to be listening to a conference call so will try later. It doea allow us to perpahps link up for any group buys etc and perhaps swap in person or meet for a pint.

Saw him play in Nottingham about 10 years ago. Went to the loo before the concert and he was stood next to me in the gents. After we'd finished I wished him luck for the performance (God knows he needed it) and he muttered a thank you and kissed me on the cheek. Very sweet really, but rather surreal. He did not play brilliantly, and yes there was quite a bit of groaning. It was a very civilised freak show with members of the audience taking photos while he was playing as if they were at a Kylie gig! Sorry, OT again, now where is everyone?

Not as easy to place the marker on this one but the map is better. You need to zoom in and double click to place a marker anywhere, fill in a tag and comment and select a marker. i have made it so you can remove them if you change your mind. It is less buggy that the other one and this uses google maps so a bit more reliable than the other one and mush easier to read with a familiar interface as most have used google maps.

If you think it is a good idea we could decide which is best and sticky it. I would like to see where everyone is in relation to each other. Msaybe make it easier for group buys and perhaps meeting up for a pint.

There was an option "Visitiors can update" which was unticked by default so I ticked it assuming this mean it would allow anyone to place a marker. Perhaps it is badly worded. I have changed it back to the default unticked setting. Have another try and double clicking at any level should allow you to place a marker.

The map referenced on the previous page of this thread is easy it asks you straight away to place a marker but is not such a good map.

I will ask someone in work to try to place a marker, I tried logging out and can still place a marker so maybe it is the setting or a bug.
