Tallow is rendered animal fat from which soap is made. Soap may also be made from vegetable fats. If you see 'Tallowate' in your soap ingredients you have a tallow soap.

Many thanks. Is it considerd better,worse or indifferent to plant extract?
Depends on who you ask.
Personally, I don't don't care what makes a soap good. Some of my favourite soaps have tallow in them, some don't.
The good thing is, that you can find out for yourself. ↪Get a bunch of samples and enjoy.

A Lot of People Hold a Good Quality Tallow in High Regard..I Am One of them..Not MWF by the Way..Its Junk..Valobra, Vitos, Haslinger & Phoenix & Beau are Top Notch Tallow Soaps..Veggie & Tallow are 2 Different Animals..No Pun Intended..

Soap is either good or bad, and the presence of tallow is not what separates one from the other. There are some truly excellent veggie soaps out there and some crap ones with tallow in.
In the most general terms the only thing which gives some users hesitation about animal tallow soaps are religious or ethical concerns. Otherwise a good soap remains a good soap irrespective of bovine or mutton fat. Enjoy whatever you fancy Phil, I do.

traditionally and in the true definition tallow comes from animals. however in the modern world, tallow merely refers to a group of fat string compounds that can be from dead cows and pigs, or from dead plants.
The irony is, that some high grade tallow soaps could actually be made of straight plant fats or a combination of plant and animal fats and you would never know without a lot of chemical testing, that would probably have little luck in saying what was actually in it..
And further more, there is a chemical chance that some veggie soaps could be nothing more then rendered down piggies and cows and not the super expensive plant fats people like.
