What happens when you press the 'report' button on a post?

Recently, I hit the 'report' button on a post because in my opinion, it had distasteful racial overtones. Nothing happened. I don't mind a 'mod' disagreeing with me, but does a 'report' automatically go to a 'mod' in the first place? If so, is it practice for them to ignore it without even firing off a short response saying, "wise up, you're being far too sensitive?"

All of the moderators get a notification (in the non-Tapatalk version) - one of us will look at it and decide if there is anything that is wildly out of order and act accordingly. When I action them, I don't habitually report back to the originator as a rule. My moderator colleagues may have a slightly different MO.

We contain a plurality of views here - all on a spectrum and try to steer a middle course as far as possible. As with the forum theme change - you can't please all of the people all of the time.

Yes it will no longer be flagged if it is closed. Have a look in the Admin section.
