Torquay

Torquay is ok. We went there a few years ago. I drove down, parked the car at the hotel and then didn't drive it again until it was time to go home a week later.

There are plenty of boat trips out to Brixham and Dartmouth, and you can get the steam train from Paignton to Kingwear and then cross the ferry to Dartmouth. Dartmouth is very nice, but tends to be very busy.

We also took a coach trip out to Dartmoor (the place, not the prison) which was quite pleasant.

What Ian said,

You probably wont be able to cram everything there is to do into a fortnight let alone a week. Its a lovely part of the country, do take a trip onto the moors (Dartmoor) head for the Two Bridges hotel for cream tea. From there you can then go to Tavistock which has a very nice little market, Buckfast Abbey near Buckfastleigh, try their Tonic wine and have a look at the stained glass window, its bloody huge.

The zoo at Paignton is also worth a visit, loads to do. :)
