Straight razor honing and refreshing.

i really like his 20 circules method.

ive finally realised why i could set the bevel right.

bassically it seems to me that the razor had never been honed before and i wasnt removing enough metal.


i got anoyed after trying loads off times that i took it to my 220 grit and then worked my way up and got a reasonable even ish bevel
 
I think someone new to honing will be quite surprised by the amount of pressure you need to set a bevel, and how hard some of the delicate blade edges are, that's the hard thing in my opinion while you can learn a lot of very good things from a video, but you cannot quite convey the different pressure strokes through a video, this is where newbie honers need to get they hands on many old razors as he can as practice makes perfect.
