i couldnt find anywhere other than gary's sample shop on B&B when i wanted to try a lot of different soaps.
I ended up buying all the ones i wanted to try over the last year, trying them, then selling them on in 3 or 4 bundles. Just keeping the half dozen i liked the most.
Everyone is different, but here are my findings:-

Proraso Menthol (Green) -- Nice Lather, Menthol kick, very nice in hot weather, average scent
Proraso Green Tea & Oat (White) -- not as nice lather as green, less menthol, average scent
Mitchell's Wool Fat -- Excellent Slick Lather, face feels great after shave - Soapy scent
VITOS Super Extra Coconut -- Excellent Slick Lather, face feels great after shave - Almond scent
TOBS Jermyn Street -- Nice Lather - awesome scent
TOBS Sandalwood -- Nice Lather, wood scent, not keen on smell
Cella -- Excellent Lather, pretty much identical to VITOS, VITOS lather slightly better - Almond Scent
Trumpers Coconut -- average lather, mild coconut scent
D R Harris Almond -- Excellent Lather, Earthy type scent, not mazipan
D R Harris Windsor -- Excellent Lather,Citrus type scent
Soap Sticks
Lea (Lanolin) -- Excellent Slick Lather, slightly better than all other sticks, face feels great after shave - Mild Lemon soapy scent
Tabac -- Excellent Lather - Strange scent
Palmolive -- Excellent Lather - soapy scent
Valobra -- Excellent Lather - non offensive scent
Speick -- Excellent Lather - Strange scent
Boots -- Excellent lather, not bad scent, slightly tingling - irritation maybe
La Toja -- Excellent Lather - Strange scent
