I have recently purchased a cheap (in comparison to some razors) de razor. I believe it is a Weishi razor, although it came in a Feather box. Dunno if these companies are one and the same. To describe, it's lightweight (nearly all black plastic) the only parts that look metallic are the butterfly head and the head opening/closing mechanism that is directly under the head. Don't mind if I say that it looks cheap and nasty (cheaper and nastier than it's photo depiction on eeh ba gum Bay). But stick a Feather blade in and it gives a decent shave. The gap between blade and safety bar (plastic also!!) is minimal. Still a few nicks though as if the Feather blade is saying it still needs respect.

What you've described sounds like a Feather Popular. A good budget razor.

Have just tried it out on 3 day stubble. 3 passes and a pretty decent shave. Minimum post shave irritation too. I was going to just use it as a travel razor....but it's appeal is growing on me and it could end up being my first choicer for a while.
