Oud

Recently acquired some YSL Oud Absolu. Good stuff. The opening is rather terrifying but after 10 minutes it settles down into something really rather good. Very woody, smokey - appealing.
Is there anything else out there similar that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Has anyone been to the arabic oud place on oxford st?

If you put your frag into the search engine of Fragrantica it will offer you a bunch of similar juices.

Oxford Street is way too expensive for my purse but there are several on-line oudh shops. I bought a handful of samples and add a tiny drop from these to my wrists with most any perfume except oudhy ones - lifts them several notches.

They have one of those Arabic Oud places in Westfield Stratford, I have managed to keep avoiding it.
Unfortunately...resistance is futile

Thanks fellas. It reminds me walking through souqs in Dubai, incense sticks burning. Real good stuff.

Might wait until next time in Dubai, might be a bit more wallet friendly there?
