NF Tubby

Anybody use one?

I find my pure shavemac whilst nice it has a bit too much backbone. I want an inbetween brush, good enough for face or bowl lathering, whilst being soft on the face.

Anyway just ordered an ebony tubby 1 from fido, as i've always craved for a decent chubby brush.

I use a alternative ivory tubby 1. It's a lovely brush. Tips go nice and soft after a few uses.

I'm really enjoying using it.

Ideal so im assuming it's a good all rounder.

Has it shed many hairs, im guessing it's just a few until it settles in?

It's shed no more than 2. Peter's service is top notch so don't worry about quality issues. He even pleased Mr Fussy (me) :D

If you like the brush, then go for it!

Yeah i know, i got his slightly confused email, as he saw this thread before checking his inbox

Already plumped for it, and tbh i can't wait heard nothing but good things about them.

Ok just got the brush, first thing i did was leave it on hot water for a while.

Now i have this lump of p160, it's an old lump as it's gone rather beige.

Now my best shavemac would struggle, it could lather but it would take a while, but against the tubby no chance it literally exploded with lather, i thought hang on this can't be the same soap surely?

It's a dinky little thing with bags of character, i can't wait to break it in, just a touch more softness and less backbone would make it perfect for my needs.

Cheers fido, i can see why so many rave about your brushes.

And here it is, in bloom with my other admittedly dry brushes.

Also my first time using 'the fat'

Yeah omega 49 with a 28mm tgn silvertip knot, knocked it up myself.

It's my frankenbrush and too soft for anything except creams.

Tends to shed hairs as well, but meh it's cheap.

I just tried my Tubby 2 for two latherings and I think that is amazing. I encountered very good backbone and great softness in the tips. In this isue I´ve compared it with my Semogue OC 2band, and this offers a little bit backbone but some harshness in the tips. I think that this is an outstanding value for the money.
