Eating in London: Bodeans, Joe Allens or Gaucho?

Planning a weekend trip to London with my good lady wife. Anyone have experience of these places to help me decide which one to visit?

I'm not looking for anything fancy. My wife doesn't like "poncey food." Just a nice mid-range place with really good no-nonsense food.

I fancy trying one of the above, but am open to other suggestions.

Thanks.

Bodeans is awesome, especially the ribs and pulled pork.

Never been to a Gaucho, but my brother speaks highly of them.

Not sure about Joe Allens.

Dinner or Lunch?

I think Allens is one of them but I'd avoid pre show popular haunts for dinner as the atmosphere departs when half the diners leave early.

If I was entertaining the wife Goucho's but luv good BBQ depends if you both like getting mucky.
