A bucolic wave from the frigid North West!

Hi chaps,

I'm new to this straight shaving business, but this is the first time I've found a UK forum. It's nice to be around people who aren't 90% American. Not that there is anything wrong with the Americans, but...you know.

My straight-shaving adventures have been put temporarily on hold as I've sent off my razor to be honed courtesy of the guys from invisible edge. Hopefully, it'll be here later this week (you know how long these things take) and I'll acquire some honing kit in due course to maintain these razors myself. Anything rather than use the Gillette Fusion, right?

Anyway, hello dudes. Good to be here. Oh, and I'm from Cumbria.

Welcome Ed, I saw that topic title and thought 'here we go another spammer'

Hopefully you will find some good straight razor advice from Neil in the straight section.

alright marra!

i wish you'd posted about getting a honing job done by invisible edge before sending it off.

i got mine back from them and it was a mess
it came back chipped and as dull as a brush
had to send it to Neil Miller (member here) to sort it, who did exactly that.

Hmm. Reet. That is interesting. It's due back shortly, so I'll use it when it arrives and see how it shaves. If it's knackered to fook, I'll have learned a lesson. Thanks for your insight here. Food for thought.

i might have been unlucky and lad-o could have had an off day/bad fettle etc

but to send it in such a state is a big nay-nay!

a quick check with the old thumbnail should give you an idea what it's like just don't leave it ages to complain and miss the chance to get your money back
