Might end up War & Peace but it needs some background:
About 6 months ago MrsB and her friend had been going on paranormal ghost hunt things run but two married blokes (married to each other). Basically you pay £40 each and they take a group of about 15 around a supposed haunted location and try and contact spirits. All a load a horse crap but MrsB believed it and it was perking her up what with her current condition and all.
After her and her mate had been to a couple events these blokes asked them to come on board at "team members" helping promote and helping out at events. All unpaid as they are trying to grow the business but they'd get to go to these events for free so seemed a decent trade off.
Anyway, a week ago things went sour when one of these blokes sent the girls a very snotty email saying they were suspended until they complied to improve the quality of their work. As they were "working" at least 2 hrs every day promoting the events online they decided to just tell them to shove it.
The paranormal groups on FaceBook they were promoting the events on got wind and people started coming out of the woodwork telling tales of how these guys have ripped them off financial and destroyed websites etc.
Last night however MrsB got a voice mail on her mobile from Merseyside police wanting to speak to her regarding allegations from these two guys. The message said he'd contact her again on Monday. She hasn't been posting anything bad about them but the community seems to be up in arms against these guys and I think they're trying to make out its her doing.
Not much sleep has been had.
Just to wind this up. After a few missed calls the police finally caught up with MrsB today.
He stated that he had already told the gentlemen that MrsB post was legal and not offencive and nothing could or should be done. Apparently they continued to call the officer to the point he decided to visit them and view the facebook post himself. Again he didn't see any harm in the post (it just stated that she no longer worked for them and brief reasons and wished them well) but they still protested that she should remove it.
After looking at other peoples comments one man put a reply that he would "Smash their faces". The police officers said that this was more offensive and why this hadn't been reported yet a woman simply making it known she no longer worked for them was? After the passed week they continued to call asking the police for an update.
He was very apologetic and never asked her to remove the post. He asked if she knew the man making threats which she doesn't, its an open group any facebook members can join and post. He asked the reasons for leaving the company and she told him her safety concerns regarding their dangerous driving and that they would drink a bottle of vodka up to 4:30am and then drive after a few hours sleep at 9:30am, fighting and arguing and driving above the speed limit in temper. This grabbed his interest although said he did state it's after the fact and they cannot investigate.
He apologised again, reassured her that this incident wasn't even logged on the computers as he didn't even consider it being worth the time and paperwork. He'll contact the gentlemen in question and tell them nothing will pursued.
All good in the end. It's obvious that the police were involved as a scare tactic and that the main aim was to get MrsB to remove her post as it damages their business, mission unsuccessful. The constable did mention something along these lines and that he'd be keeping an eye on them. So, it looks like all they actually succeeded in doing it p*ssing off a copper.
I'd dearly love to be a fly on the wall when the police call and tell them no action is being taken. They are very "control freak" and the fact they didn't get their own way I can practically hear their heads exploding from here! They have an event tonight so it would be unfortunate if their emotions flowed over to spoil their performance
.
Karma, she's a right beetch isn't she? (I'm still giggling)
