Latest satellite image of what is now an extratropical cyclone/windstorm:

It ceased to be a hurricane at around 4.30 am - as someone on Netweather said, quite poignantly, I thought:
It's bye, bye to the NHC. They have given their final advisory.



No longer a hurricane. We may never see them have to track a hurricane here for the rest of our lives. Great work from them.
 
Wild, wet and windy night over west Scotland last night. However we've had much worse, guess B/monkey was more in the line of attack. Hope the roof stayed okay, Paul.

Yes, thank you, all fine. A bit messy around the coast with 20ft waves reported and gusts of wind recorded at 68 mph max but so far so good.

Strangest of atmospheres here in North London. Absolute stillness. No birds. Pink skies. One imagines it being like this before the eruption of Krakatoa, or something.
