The General in brass

Get wise !!! everything is made in China, that's why we must learn to get along, we have become dependant on big business and they need profit ... just imagine a world without batteries !!!!
Where do you think they are made ???

I have not so much issue with that as with the price since it's made in China. The word "schlonged" comes to mind.

I'm still very smitten with my brass General, and I reckon it's one of the best AC SEs I've got. It shaves so well that I'm guilty of neglecting its aluminium brother, my Hawk, Claymore, Rocnel and various Mongoose types. I rate it as perhaps the best of the current crop of AC razors. This is curious, as I've tended to grow to like aluminium models better than the heavy stainless ones, but this bucks the trend.

It is a great razor, all the better for being made from brass, a wonderful material for a razor, the General and the brass Hone have the same hold on me.....it must be the brass! :)

I see from the Colonial website and their email update that they have a limited stock of brass Generals for sale at $99.99, and, once these are gone, production of that razor model will be discontinued.

I have no idea how many of these were made, but it seems like a good enough reason to hang on to one if you have it. It's still a pity that they weren't at least name-stamped or engraved a la Hone, but there we go.
