When I first started out on this forum I never thought of trying a synthetic. I suppose I thought that traditionally it was a Badger or a Boar, and ignored the man made fibre. What really changed my mind though was a free Vie Long synthetic.
I've now have two synthetic and my opinion is that they are indeed very good. As has been said and I've said in the past they are in maintenance terms easier than a Badger or Boar. They simply wash out easier. All in general have strong backbones making lathering a breeze.
Badger are nice for a touch of luxury, a nicely broken in Boar is great, but for a decent everyday/travelling brush a synthetic is the way to go.
