slant razors

Love the 37c here.

One pro tip:

Don't overthink blade placement. Just chuck it in as you would a normal de. Let the head bend the blade.

Interesting thread on B&B about this very topic. The people from Merkur recommend that the razor is held upside down so that the blade alignment is with the cap and the hendle/guard is also tightened upside down.

May be worth giving it a bash?

I have a RazoRock German 37 Slant head. It shaves me well but it's really more aggressive than I need. The alum block stings afterwards but it doesn't reduce the number of passes I need for a good shave.

I have an ATT S1 and a Razorock "Wunderbar" The S1 is (IMHO) milder than the ATT R1. The Wunderbar is the best slant i've used no question. Incredibly efficient and smooth!
I previously owned two Merkur slants but moved them on.

No tug or struggle regardless of the blades I've used or the growth they've had to deal with.

Indeed ....... The advantage of a blade edge that's guillotining your whiskers off with a little more grace than the square hacking edge that is a standard safety razor alignment.

For anyone quaking in their boots at the thought of using a slant for the first time, I have these measured words to calm and allay your fears: Stop being pussies......... it's just a feckin' razor :D

Was that quote not originally attributed to Msgr Jean - Ignace Guillotin ?
