I mentioned in the recent Minora blades thread that the vendor had kindly sent me a complimentary packet of 10 "Silver Star" blades, made in Egypt by Lord Co. These are new to me.
To be frank, I'm always gratified to receive such a gift, but, that said, my expectations of quality etc. aren't that high. However, I'm pleased to say that these don't disappoint.
Stainless, described as "Premium High Quality" and "Med. Thickness", they are nicely-packed and single-layer-wrapped, without glue spots etc. In an aluminium Standard razor, they are very sharp and very smooth, for a clean 2-pass shave. I have a couple of places which are liable to "tugging" with any blade and razor combination, but these avoided that entirely, and no post-shave stinging either.
Over time, I'll try some of the remaining 9 blades in different razors, but if they work as well as on this first outing, I'll be in the market for some more.
