Replating in the uk

Hi folks,

I have 2 razors i d like to restore but don't know anyone currently that can replate. Does anyone know of a reputable service that would replate a raxor (uk or eu ?)

I had a couple done by Prestige Electroplating in Mexborough and they did a fantastic job. They don't have a website but give them a ring.

That was the one. I've not used Alpha myself but another chap did and was very happy with the results.

Do they take the razor apart before replating?

I have a black beauty that could do with a bit of a service to tighten it up a little.

I had a fatty Tech done but I forget by whom. T'was either Prestige or Alpha and was/still is a grand job.

From what I remember from the old threads, the platers mentioned above aren't razor specialists and don't touch TTOs etc. Just 2/3 piece razors such as Techs or News which is a shame as I've got a #21 in need

I've used Alpha and was very pleased with the result. They will re-plate a razor provided it's given to them disassembled. So if you know how to disassemble your TTO, if it's possible at all, then you can get it done.

Probably best you know how to re-assemble it as well!
