Razor gift Dilema

Ok getting a starter kit ready for my older brother. Got a brush and soap, but need to decide which razor to give him.

The choice is between an EJ de89 or one of two Gillette tech's, one aluminium, one is thin handled type.
Im going to keep my fat handled tech and Gillette slim, sorry brother.

Any thoughts?

The EJ would probably be better simply because of the diameter of the handle, a thin handle type Tech may be off putting. Well done for putting a kit together for your brother. P.

IMO the DE89, was my 1st DE & I found it nice & easy to use. Well done sir on the gesture.

DE89. Some people are grossed out by the thought of vintage razors.

As others have stated, the DE89 is a great choice. A very wide 'sweet spot'.

If he used to bully you when younger then consider an R41 with some Feather blades

Ha I've got some blades together and some styptic matches (the selection includes feathers)

Cheers guys, looks like I will soon only have gross vintage razors in my collection.

Some of my favourite razors are vintage, I don't get the gross thing.
People eat out, using forks and spoons which have previously been in thousands of different mouths, and then won't use a vintage razor.
Am I missing something?

That's fine. The more folk that don't want the experienced razors the better for those of us looking for just that. And the Ball End Tech may well be my favorite of all the Techs.
