That's great, you don't see much like that in the UK or if you do someone comes along and ruins it with their tags or it gets removed altogether.View attachment 26640

This model is absolutely fascinating. I'm sure there are stories....but perhaps some things are best left unexplained.

I think the most creative graphic arts out there today is graffiti. Also amazed how it is executed so well. Thanks P. - there is, in my experience a completely different attitude towards graffiti artists in Spain - I do consider it art. Some cities have a policy of indicating streets or blocks that are free to use. I think Barcelona pioneered this approach. Generally this is respected - so you don't get idiots tagging historic buildings and the like. Stuff does get painted over - that's in the nature of the genre and accepted. I have certain spots that I'll go check on each visit to see what new pieces have been put up. As I said before - it's easy money for a photographer - somebody else has done all the work for you. I was in Valencia recently and was delighted to find work by the same person I had photographed in Madrid and Alicante. Post Banksy, things are getting better in Britain. It's not just vandalism anymore. We're still years behind though and there is an element of commodification about the process that is very British. I'm firmly of the opinion 'Banksy' is a collective and not an individual. cheers - I.
Remarkable story, great image.View attachment 26676
The dark side - 'A tunnel of light,' - when in his 20's a friend of mine had to have his wisdom teeth taken out - fairly routine. Unfortunately for him, the muscle relaxant component of the anesthetic did its job too well and it also relaxed his heart - to the point it stopped beating. He was clinically dead for a few minutes. He remembered the experience - and can lucidly narrate it. He was falling into a tunnel of light - he didn't feel scared at all, quite the opposite - there was a sense of wonder. On his descent he passed static points of light that he knew were angels. This is a bit odd as he was not raised in a religious environment and has no personal belief. Then - bang - lights out. He knows in retrospect that this was the moment they put the paddles on his chest and connected him to the national grid to restart his heart. He remembers nothing more until he woke up several days later in the HDU of the hospital. - Palma, Leica and film. cheers - I.
