Mid to late 50s I think.....I would be happy to be proved wrong though!I have two vintage Progress with red dot and numbers, all metal with plastic knob. Anyone knows when that production started?
Thanks

Drool...
The German text in the linked post reads something like:Amazing! Looks like it might lack 'weight' though.
The guy also says that it shaves just as a normal Progress does.Although this razor is made from Pollopas, it's nevertheless quite heavy. Heavier than some all metal razors.

Pollopas was a brand name for a type of urea-formaldehyde
Ouch. £120. Looking at historical exchange rates, 3 German Marks were about 12/- (twelve shillings) back then (60p if you want it decimal) - good investment. There was this one a couple of months ago - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1960s-cas...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
Production started in 55. I'm not sure when the plastic guard plate was dropped, my mid 70s issue gold Progress has the red numbers but metal guard plate.Mid to late 50s I think.....I would be happy to be proved wrong though!
