Barbaros Gem razor

Prototype shown on Instagram.

The design is like 1912 and other vintage Gem style razors, with a sprung-loaded, hinged top cap.

It looks interesting,and likely to be quite expensive.

I saw it and I'm not inspired. I wonder why should one buy this one and not the 1912 version at a small fraction of the price.

It looks interesting but my 1912 looks better, that's not to say I don't want to hear and see more of it in the future, after all this is just a prototype at the moment.

Not flip-top, but press-and-hold-top... it won't stay open on its own... August is still ahead of them...

Yeah, sigh ... not a heavy sigh, mind, as we do indeed have the 1912 and it would have to be a quantum leap in something or other for any new razor to pip that.

Still, there's a sledgehammer out there with the right idea ... let's see where it goes.

There was an adjustable Pushbutton (prototype) ... I'm not sure what it did, though. Maybe changed the angle, maybe changed the blade presentation. Dunno. For the purists (@Fergiebilly), a 1912 angled for modern GEM blades would be perfection.

That and a M5x0.8 screw on the head. A sun-ray pattern engraved on the cap would help selling it

It's interesting that it's going to take both Gem and injector blades.
Depending on the price it could be worth giving it a go.
