Yes agreed mateI used paint pens for awhile, but I've had some of the paint come off after some use, so I now use Testors enamel model paint in the little teeny bottle. To remove the excess I use 800 grit wet/dry sandpaper to wet sand and then I buff by hand with a wet cloth with toothpaste on it. Vintage shave brushes will melt and smear VERY quickly with any kind of powered tool, that's why I do it by hand, and it's a small thing, so it doesn't take long.
i was thinking more of a dremel on a very slow speed but as you say doing it by hand is safer
