Your daily driver

I've only been de shaving for a couple of months now. I started with a Wilkinson basic, then bought a second hand slimtwist and a Merkur 25c. My wife then bought me a travel set from ebay, which included an unused Tech. I know it's nothing glamorous, but I now use it daily and gives a fantastic shave.

My daily driver is my ikon b1 deluxe stainless steal open comb. Usually manages to get the bits on my neck my other razors fail on.

I'm going to be using my Thomas Clipper SS DE exclusively now with P&B Imperial Rum and Feather Hi-Stainless blades for a little while to hone my technique, which was apparently lacking in my last shave.

It's hefty and beautifully made and I wouldn't have had it if someone hadn't offered it to me in a trade.

I'll probably start using my razors in fortnightly rotations herein as I don't shave every day. I'll keep y'all updated, not that you want that but too bad. ;)

I have fallen, quite accidentally, into a different daily driver - I use the Mingshi 2000s - great shave with every blade
I know you're a big fan of the Merkur Futur, do you think the chinese clone is actually better than the real thing? Or at least as good? the reason I'm asking is that a mate of mine wants to buy one. I already have a genuine Futur in my collection.

I've grown a bit of a beard recently (I can hear the disapproving mumbles already) but the other half seems to like it. Either that, or she thinks it makes me look that daft that no other lady will look twice. :)

When I was daily shaving, I never veered too far from my 39C aka Sledgehammer. It's easily the best razor I've ever used and requires minimal effort to achieve a BBS every time. On occasion, or when tidying up the beard, I reach for the 2013 R41 or my Futur. I use Sputnik blades with the 39C, Feathers with the R41 and whatever is handy when using the Futur.

:)

Mumble mumble :)

I LOVE my Futur, but I pick the Mingshi 2000 8 times out of 10. I would recommended them without hesitation.

I have a bit of a beard as well, shaving is a means of shaping it for me. It's a joke within the family that I look like a finger when I'm shaved because my neck is as wide as my head...

I am mostly a straight shaver but have jumped on this particular band wagon just to vary things up in my rotation.

I agree with David68 the clone is a very good razor and for the price point gives an exceptional shave.

Regarding differences between mine own, the clone is slightly lighter and the gap distance is slightly different but once you dial/adjust the required setting there is no difference in the quality of the shave i've experienced. Weight wise it might be an issue depending how you hold the razor, some people like to let the head weight do the shaving, personally did not effect my own shave.

Is the clone better - it does not out perform the original but it does gives a comparative shave but the price point is a big plus at a faction of the cost. Personally, if both razors were dialed/adjusted, in a blind test i am not sure i could tell the difference and if i had the option to buy either i would buy the clone from a cost saving perspective.
