YaQi 24mm 'Tuxedo' Synthetic

Here it is, 49mm. The description stated 53 +- 1mm.

I have 4 Yaqi brushes and each one has near enough exact a loft which is 4mm shorter than advertised and a knot width 2mm wider.

2 of the brushes are great as they have reasonable glue bumps, and the other 2 have very large and significant ones to the extent where they aren't very pleasurable to use.

If this was a boar, wouldn't be such a problem, as I like my Semogue 620, with a 50mm loft. But the boar splays a lot, unlike this one. So although the fibers fell great, it's just too small, I'll probably end up trying to unglue it and set it a little higher.

Be careful when trying to unglue the knot.

I steamed out the knot in a Razorrock Synthetic a couple of years ago and the steam melted the glue that held the bristles together and all the bristles fell out.

Never had that problem with badger or boar knots using the same methid.

Ok, thank you for the heads up.

I'm still trying to get a reply from Yaqi, to see if they offer a solution.

I really think Yaqi should release their brand new designed brushes as soon as possible. Since they've increased their prices, their brushes are not so much interesting in comparison with their retail clients (RR, Maggards, etc). The one thing that was cool is that they used to sell new models of brushes very regularly, there was some kind of dynamic so to speak. Now we can only have a glance of what they plan to produce or not on their FB page, which is a bit frustrating (I guess it's the plan, to tease the potential clients).

Hey Yaqi! I would like a new brush, limited edition preferably, willing to spend 9 dollars tops shipping included, don't forget to write gift and value 50 cents on parcel, or I am going to take my business elsewhere :)

I've purposely avoided shorter loft YaQi brushes due to the possibility of the glue bump making them unusable
