Was basically facing the same dilemma last week, decided to buy both AS-D2 + Rockwell 6S, keep my favourite and sell the other... Life is too short to mess about
I believe the Hone (all versions) is made in the Netherlands, but I don't "know" it. The one I received for a pass around shipped from there and Andrew (the maker) lives there. For a definitive answer you'd have to ask @Hone.Can i ask if you know where the Hone (brass) is manufactured?
Cheers
Hi,
Just looking for recommendations on new razors .I'm looking for quality that will last for years. I've seen a lot of good press on the Feather ASD2 and a whole list of AAT razors.
I have sensitive skin and don't really want a super aggressive razor but I do want a close daily shave.
All ideas welcome.
Thanks in advance.

The razor, after all, is only the holder for the blade which does the actual cutting of the beard. There are variables involved with any razor, and the gurus on this forum have numerated them time after time. Buying a $200 razor will give you the satisfaction of owning a $200 razor, but it won't guarantee any better shave than you'll get from a $20 razor. Anyone who's been in this hobby for longer than six months knows this from first-hand experience. When I first saw the title of your thread (you really need to amend it) I was going to recommend the Fatip piccolo. After reading your post I still would and it proves a point.
I have a few ATT base plates and handles and the Fatip shaves as well as any of them.
The Fatip is £20.00 and a ATT is £150.00.
Recently I've been seriously considering one of the Timeless razors which is well over £200, when you take into account custom charges.
I've spoken at length with those who own one or tried one. Many have raved about them, while others have strongly advised to try one first before I buy one as it doesn't agree with everyone.
I really struggled to resist, as like the majority of folk on here we have no willpower when it comes to shiny things.
Luckily a member from another forum came to my rescue and offered to loan me one.
I've tried two different base plates and I couldn't get on with either on. In fact I had one of my worst shaves with the Timeless.
Thankfully this was not an expensive mistake and I'm glad I listened to folk with a lot more experience than myself.
You could buy any razor and if it doesn't suit you can sell it on BST but you are going to lost out.
If at all possible, try before you buy. I know this is not always possible but you could save yourself a lot of cash if you can.
Now I don't want to take the jam out your doughnut. It's just some advice from someone in exactly the same position as yourself.
Good luck.
Sorry chaps I'm don't know how to change the title of the thread. Can anyone help?
100% agree, I've tried some fancy razors & my £15 FaTip grande is, honestly, one of the best. When I first saw the title of your thread (you really need to amend it) I was going to recommend the Fatip piccolo. After reading your post I still would and it proves a point.
