What's your best budget shave cream?

The other day I came across Williams shaving soap while looking for filler to get to free shipping on Walgreens.com. Been wanting to try soap (I have been wet shaving for ten years but have always used creams) so I picked up a puck. I didn't realize it was a -thing- until I came back here and saw all of the love-it-or-hate-it reviews.

I'm a face latherer, and didn't think it was all that hard to lather. The lather lasted enough for a second pass. The scent was fine. However the lather did feel a bit thin compared to Proraso (which is what I typically use). So it wasn't the best but certainly not the worst. Absolutely no complaints about the price. All in all I was satisfied with the $2 soap and plan on using it again!

Did I mention already that mine is INGRAM QUALITY LATHER SHAVE?

I bought 2 tubes of Groomed! Shave cream from lidl in the week.
They are selling through their fathers day guff bogof.

I'd read a review on here saying it was good stuff & it absolutely is.
A sub £1/tube bargain!

As of today, Lea shaving stick is right up there. They (Spanish shavers) got in a latin strop when the tallow was removed a few years ago, and successfully campaigned for it to be put back. This thing has tallow and lanolin, and produced a really sensational, thick, creamy lather this morning. I managed to get a stick for 1e20c, but widely available for 1.50euro. I also picked up a La Toja stick, which I am looking forward to testing out as well.

Nice clean scent as well, plus good packaging with three aeration holes in the cover that allow you to recap it and still allow it to dry out a little after use.

La Toja is excellent - I have the stick and the tube. It has a nice scent too - not strong but a kind of mineral, sea spray, soapy smell. Excellent lather too. Lea is really good too.

By the way I have worked out that if I shaved every day I would have enough soap to last me until 2218 (Sept 24th actually) .. and I still buy more! It's an illness really.......and highly contagious so by reading this you're already hooked, I'll pray for your Soul (which at least will look clean shaven and tidy when you get to the pearly gates, and then just think about all those swaps you can do up there).

It's all very subjective, but I find that supermax lather shaving cream gives a real good shave! Plus it's only about £2.50 a tube

Have you tried using honey or coconut oil to shave? Truly does wonders and it really refreshes the face. I have sensitive skin and if I use anything with added chemicals, my face goes all red. Maybe there are others in my situation so I decided to share a list of homemade shaving creams that have worked for me.
If they worked for you, why does your profile pic look like you haven't shaved in weeks? And why this thread? Is this Spam?

I lay in a stock of Proraso blue when I order other stuff from the .it site of a well-known retailer. The postage becomes insignificant and each tube works out at just over €2.

89p in Savers sometimes, I wasn't impressed with the slickness from the SuperMax so it's not seeing much use YMMV and all that..
