What sandalwood soap / cream would you recommend?

If Cyril Salter Indian Sandalwood cream is anything like their French Vetiver cream, then it will blow your socks off.

I love French Vetiver - it's earthy, smoky and intense. The performance is right on the money too.

Disclaimer - I've not even sniffed their Sandalwood so I can't comment on the scent.

Salter Sandalwood smells like a stronger, cologney version of my favourite sandalwood scent; The Body Shop old formula shaving cream. I'd be very happy if I could find that scent in a tallow soap.

I Would suggest OSP sandlewood, it's just plain sandlewood but really nice, definitely earthy you won't find anything floral about it at all.

This morning I had my first shave with the OSP Sandalwood soap. This was my first experience with OSP soaps. What can I say? Although I would like it to have a stronger scent, there's nothing else I would change. The scent profile is just what I was looking for and the slickness is super, up there with the best I've tried in the past.
I'm not afraid to admit that I was wrong to say I was not impressed with this soap. I was too quick to judge the whole package. As it is, this soap is a keeper.

Can anyone suggest a sandalwood soap that would match the Trumper's skin food fragrance? I've got an OSP and Castle Forbes but, whilst great performance wise, they are a bit underwhelming when it comes to scent which I find rather reminiscent of furniture polish.

How is the Sandalwood hunt going? Glad you like OSP - we usually have a good stock & matching tonics. Have you tried Faena before? The soaps are a great quality & lather well!

Good luck with finding a Sandalwood you like!

It's going very well, thank you :)

Today I took delivery of a Fine Sandalwood soap, said to be very similar to AOS. I'm yet to lather it but it smells quite nice. It's not as earthy as SOP though.
While in London I purchased a TOBS Sandalwood stick. There is a noticeable difference with the cream and the soap is growing on me.

So far the OSP is still my favourite. ( I was reading on a Spanish shaving forum how a few members were praising American soaps and knocking British soaps.... what a bunch of ignorant wet shavers I thought :) :) :) - they should read what I've been reading in at least one American forum..... they regard some British soaps highly and rightly so in MHO, just like there are some fantastic American, Italian, French, etc soaps)

I got a sample of PAA Sandalwood AS which is very different.... I think it would have to grow on me :)
