What does your other half think of your shaving hobby?

My wife, at first, was suspicious. I went from shaving once a week at best, to shaving daily. She thought I was having an affair.

It's only when I sat her down and reiterated the reasons why I used to shave once a week, and why I can shave daily now, that she finally understood. That said, she still raises an eyebrow every time I show an interest in, and I quote, "yet another soap that you don't need" :D

She is actively encouraging my purchase of good quality stink though.

Same for me. I had stubble for approx. 10 years because of awful experiences with Gillette cartridges, then started shaving daily with a DE razor. My wife said “who are you shaving for” in that disapproving women's tone”!
My wife cannot understand why I enjoy shaving now. That the whole experience is relaxing.

My wife is a legend. I collect comics and have over 15,000 in my Man-cave and it's still growing (with all my books and comic related stuff like statues and busts etc. I have a LOT of 'STUFF'), but I digress.

Because I have the coarsest whiskers possible, getting me to happily shave everyday makes for a happy wife and she knowing my (I NEED IT ALL) mentality from my comic collecting, is use to many parcels arriving - as long as I stick within budget (my budget is a float figure) and we still do everything 'she' wants like new loft etc, then all is good with the world. Currently staying away from the more expensive aftershaves, as to be honest not a fan, but loving my soaps and my wife is enjoying the aroma in the bathroom after I finish (shaving that is  )

Given we don't share mutual economy, there's not much she can or should say to it. But when she does, it's to express that she does not understand it, find it silly and have a hard time comprehend why a "simple cart and can of goo" shouldn't work just as well.

My wife tried that. I reminded her there are many brands of cheap make-up, and I cannot understand why she wears mascara which cost £25 when you can buy some in the supermarket for £2. Or why she needs to get deliveries of clothes each week when she clearly has wardrobes full. She hasn't commented on my shaving since.....
