Well, this real purty song's covered by someone else, as are most others in this wonderfully facetiously bent movie.

If you like it, check out John Goodman's wonderful version of People Like Us and certainly watch the whole True Stories flick if you ain't so far. Excellent tongue in cheek/straight face kinda thing with a great soundtrack. The fashion show is a good indication of the whole town's state of mind.
