Starter Kit Recommendations ?

Ok, second DE shave completed! Better than yesterday but still a little irritation on the right side of my neck, not sure what i'm doing wrong there - I was careful to shave with the grain. Also today the lather was drying on my face, maybe I was taking too long? I just washed and re lathered
There is no shame in re-lathering, the lather police aren't watching.. It's a learning curve, which we all have to go through, if you're lather is drying out too quick, then I recommend adding a few drops of glycerin to it. I got mine from boots, it's only cheap,http://www.boots.com/value-health-glycerin-b-p-200ml-10021858
adds a wonderful slickness to the lather, you only need 4-6 drops maximum. Any more than that, I'tll be too thick, keep at it, you'll get there. In the end. Avoid against the grain passes, in your irritation neck area, until your skin gets accustomed to de shaving. Good luck.

Still getting a little neck irritation but it seems to be getting better with each shave. I think you were right @Palmolive fox , just the skin getting accustomed to the new shaving method :) Still sticking to WTG for the time being

Thanks for the tag mate..we are all different, what works for me, doesn't work for everyone..i quote your own common sense.."Still sticking to WTG for the time being",if this is giving you good results, without irritation..then stick with it..just remember, let the weight of the razor do the work for you..it takes time, patience & learning your technique..but your getting there..i'm a year into DE shaving ,and i still learn something of value after every shave..Practise..your on the right path by sticking to WTG for the time being.Don't be to self critical of yourself..take it easy and enjoy your new shaving experience.

Yes WTG is giving good results, maybe could be a little closer but I still have lots of blades to try - So far i've only used the Astra Superior Platinum. I'm most certainly enjoying DE shaving as a whole, already got my eye on some more soaps/creams to try!

Astra Superior Platinum..are excellent Blades, they are sharp & smooth..good choice..try not to fall down the rabbit hole temptation buying too much shaving products..,stick with what you have until your neally out..speaking from experience...

Oh, one other question I had was regarding cleaning. At the moment i'm just rinsing the razor under hot water. Does it need something more thorough once in a while ? If so, what's recommended ?
