a wonderful set up, excellent choice of blades..everything you need,my only suggestion i advise is get some balm or moisturiser..nothing expensive, all the major super markets do their own brand of Body lotion i normally go for unfragranced, or Aloe..if you have sensitive skin goe for that one Tesco's do a one for £1.00p i think... if you have a "body Care Store" in your area, you can pick up some "The Real Shaving Co.Post shave soothing Balm, for £1.00p also if you have a "Home Bargains Store" you can pick up some witch hazel for £1.80p something i swear by, my skin has never been so good since i started using it after i've shaved.. lots of very good cheap options, that won't break the bank..give it a try you won't be dissapointed.Regards.

I picked up some of the Proraso aftershave cream. I've been trying it with my Dorco and so far have been very impressed. I'll definitely try some of your suggestions at some point, thanks :)
Does anyone have any recommendations for which blade to start with? Or does it not really matter?

if the dorco is working for you, then stick with it for a few shaves, then move on to the Astra, for another few, the the Gillette 7'oclock sharpedge..you'll get to know which one is best for your razor, and most importantly suited to your skin..work your way through them, each will give you a excellent shave..with practice..one word of my humble advice is i find Aggressive blades work really well with non-Aggressive razors & vice versa..take your time ,don't expect instant BBS shaves..you'll get there in the end..and most of all enjoy your new shaving experience.Train your mind to "Shave the lather from your face, rather than the stubble, this has help me with excellent results because ,i've learn't to add no pressure to the razor, i just let the weight of the razor do the work..Regards.

Forget the soap for the moment, use your Proraso cream or better still buy yourself a tube of palmolive for a couple of quid as it'll be easiest to lather. If you can't lather worth a damn doesn't matter what combo of blade and razor you use it'll be a poorer shave. I may be mistaken but that brush just looks like a flimsy EJ, somebody recommend a good synth or boar for the chap.

First DE Shave completed! Overall very impressed, it feels great. Went with the Astra blade as recommended. No issues with lathering etc just a slight irritation around my neck but I think that was due to a lapse in concentration. I was careful to shave with the grain on my face and for some reason forgot about this when it came to my neck :/ I'd say overall a good first shave but definitely more practice needed

well done.. Practice your technique, map your face, and the golden rule 'No pressure to the razor at all, let the weight of the razor do the work... And try those different blades.

Ok, second DE shave completed! Better than yesterday but still a little irritation on the right side of my neck, not sure what i'm doing wrong there - I was careful to shave with the grain. Also today the lather was drying on my face, maybe I was taking too long? I just washed and re lathered
