Pre Shave: Hot Shower + L'Oreal Birch Sap Face Wash and Wickhams 1912 Shamrock Tweed Face Soap
Razor: Gillette Tech Fat Handle
Blade: Special Sheffield Stainless Steel NOS (#1)
Brush: Maseto 30mm finest fan shape
Soap: Wickhams 1912 Shamrock Tweed
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Thayers Lavender Witch Hazel
AS: Wickhams 1912 Shamrock Tweed

Finally got around to trying one of the NOS Special Sheffield Stainless Steel blades and the Fat Tech razor that they came with. Thanks to @Blademonkey and @StephenShave for giving me a nudge to try try these as well:).

Superb result, not surprising really based on the tools. I already have a thin handle version of this Gillette tech and this is now my fourth Wickhams 1912 soap so the razor, soap and brush were all known. The NOS blade was excellent, no idea how old the blades are but this one shaved well. As usual the 30mm Maseto loads enough soap for a weeks worth of shaving but this is now my favourite brush, the splay is not too big for the knot size, maybe due to the fan shape.

Razor - Gibbs no.15 (2)
blade - vintage British made Star by Personna (1)
brush - Chubby 2 Best
soap - Williams Ice Fresh Menthol - Spanish
post - witch hazel
a/s - Artic Kinesia - Spanish
balm - Myrsol Emulsion.

Result - great.

Only 24 hours between shaves - not normal for me. I had to shave my head and had time on my hands this evening - so what the hell? When I rubbed my finger tips atg on my face I could detect some regrowth from last night - so entirely justifiable obviously. Nothing gratuitous about it. So - half way through lathering with the Williams' menthol cream - I realised - what the hell am I doing? It's Baltic out there tonight. This is no time for a face freezing shave - but, in for a penny? I was committed. @Barry Giddens used this recently for the first time and mentioned the coldness of the cream - and I thought - typical soft Southerner - ha ha - but no, he is right - I recalled the last time I used it, it was 30 degrees in the shade. Makes a difference in interpretation. With watering eyes and a running nose - finished up with more menthol products. I'd noticed a few Gibbs vintage in use this week - so had to get mine out again. It's a superb razor. One of my favourites. I feel refreshed - very refreshed. Smoother than a Chinese River Dolphin - job done. Enjoy your shaves gentlemen - cheers - I.

Good to see the hard as nails northerner and the soft pansy southerner stereotypes are still alive and well! :) I dread to think what the average person thinks about a cornishman way down here in the south West, but I bet it's got something to do with doing unspeakable thing's with my sister or her donkey! :) P.

Actually P. - despite the fact that you don't get much more southern than where you live - I would never class you as a soft southerner - quite the opposite. I'd include the south-westerners in general - left of Offa's Dyke - in this category as well - thanks to being a member of this forum - I learned the Welsh for happy birthday today. I'm sure B. will take my comment in the way intended. I'm a bit concerned about the donkey though? Yours - I.

Ha ha, not as concerned as the donkey! :) P.

Pre: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Tony Forsyth P&C LE 2017 Platypus
Soap: De Vergulde Hand
Razor: ATT Kronos M2
Blade: Vintage English Gillette Platinum (2)
Post: Myrsol Emulsion
EdT: Chanel Antaeus

I reckon this soap (De Vergulde Hand) is close to the fastest lathering soap I've ever used. As always, I persisted with lather development to get to best from the soap. I was pleasantly surprised by the scent - I was expecting a clean, soapy scent similar to MWF or Haslinger Schafsmilch, but it had a definite European cologne scent profile, which I really enjoyed.
Three passes for a DFS; the residual slickness was not quite up to the same standard as Dr Dittmar, but still pretty good.
And the finishing Eau de Toilette - Wow! Chanel have ventured into serious testosterone levels with Antaeus - fresh yet potently leathery in composition.

It did make me smile Iain. Or rather, I would have smiled if my face wasn't still frozen.

Razor: Charcoal Goods Level 2 SB
Blade: GSB (1)
Brush: Wolf Whiskers Bishop
Soap: L&L + CL Champs de Lavande
Post: Chatillon Lux Champs de Lavande
EdT: Chatillon Lux Lavande Poivre

Happy that I chose these for Lavendursday! We had to take both boys to get their vaccinations so a nice, relaxing lavender was just what I needed to get through it. CdL has such a wonderful scent and the dry down from Lavande Poivre...insane!
