Greetings,

A new shave set up to start the weekend,The van der hagen soap was the star of shave set up..It's been a considerable amount of time since i last used this soap, and only stumbled across it when i was picking out my SOTD sets -up for the coming week..I'll be adding it more regular to my shave soap rotation in the future.

A wonderful 3 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the off with a generous splash of Lucky Tiger~ a/s & face tonic,& a few squirts of Benetton ~ Essence Of Man edt. to the pulse points...Superb stuff.

My face is super smooth & smelling wonderful.;)

Enjoy the start of the weekend, ladies & gentlemen.

Today's shave:

rdt180203.jpg

- Grooming Dept Wonderland
- Vie-Long 12705B
- Rockwell 2C (R3) with Windrose handle and ASP blade
- Prince Classic aftershave

:)

The soap reminds me of an old dentist's office: clean but also a bit stale or musty, with the smell of some mysterious paste or other freshly preparated concoction still in the air. (My judgement may be clouded by the wisdom tooth removal I had done yesterday, though... it went great; still hurts a bit, but no swelling at all.)

Greetings

Saturday 3rd February 2018
Prep: Shower
Razor: Muhle R41 (2013)
Blade: Perma Sharp
Brush: Vulfix / Cashmere
Soap: Tabac
Aftershave: Astral Cream (soft)
EDT: Sisley Eau D'Ikar

Whilst I am predominantly a SE razor user I am always impressed just how well this razor shaves and it seems to do so with more or less any blade, the difference between this model and the previous 2011 abomination is truly enormous it is because of that model that I was put off trying this razor for several years. Is it possible to find a DE razor that shaves better?

Regards
Dick.

Simple face wash
The Personal Barber synthetic brush
Edwin Jagger DE89
Pol Silver blade (4)
Palmolive shave stick
Alum block
Old Spice Bearglove aftershave
Bluebeards Revenge aftershave balm

Another good shave today, Pol Silver blades are really working well for me. My only issue with the setup is the Palmolive shave stick as it seems to be giving me a dry top lip so need to make sure I out balm on the area. The other areas the stick is great, super performance.

What's your thoughts on the Hawk, Pat?

I like shaving with both my aluminium razors, the General being the other. They make a nice change from using the stainless steel heavy weights and are easy to manoeuvre around the face. My preferred blade in the SS Razors is the Kai Pink,to mild in the Hawk so I'll stick a Feather Pro or better still a Schick Proline in the Hawk to beef it up.
I don't feel the need to swap to a heavier handle,I like shaving with the Hawk as is.
A good razor at an affordable price.

Cheers ;)
