SOTD : Saturday 2nd - Friday 8th February 2019.

Monday 4th February

Brush - Omega S10065
Soap - Palmolive Green
Razor - Yaqi DE89 style
Blade - Personna Red
Post - Alum
Balm - RSC
AS - Ben's Bay Rum

There wasn't much if not no need to shave today, as I had a very close shave yesterday and had very little growth but still went ahead with a 2 pass shave as I'm trying to get back into the habit of shaving daily, I feel all the better for it.

Like the other shaves I've had with the Yaqi DE89 style, I've ended up with a fair few nicks and today I worked out why, I've stupidly ended up using the wrong top plate! I've been using the top plate from the Yaqi OC which looks very similar but has a shorter screw and consequently the blade in the DE89 head had some chatter.

Prep: Face wash with Pears soap
Pre: Wilko Shave Oil
Brush: Razorock Plissoft
Cream: Tabac
Razor: Gillette Superslim Twist
Blade: Astra SP (4)
Post: Cold Water rinse / Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel
ASL: Tabac
ASB: Boots Freshwood balm

Decent shave. The razor is very mild and with the blade fading it wasn't easy getting a close shave but it worked out OK.

Have a good evening.

Cheers
Steve

Prep: Hot shower:/ RightGuard ~ Energy Burst Shower Gel.

Pre:

Cold wet flannel to my face.

Pears ~ Transparent Soap.

Brush: Fine Stout 24mm Synthetic.

Bowl Lather.

Cream : OSP ~ Grapefruit & Menthol.

Blade: Gillette ~ 7'0 Clock Super Stainless . (3)

Razor: wilkinson sword ~ premium TTO.

Cold wet flannel to rinse my face.

Post:

Cold Water Face Rinse./ Homemade Lavender + Tea Tree Oil Witch Hazel Mixture./ Nivea Men ~ 2 Phase ASL.

Wilko ~ Men's Aftershave Balm.

Greetings,

Another menthol themed early morning shave...The OSP cream is great wake up call to your face sensors first thing on a cold morning..An excellent shaving cream, which only a small amount is requiredto get a great lather in no time with a very nice citrusy scent and plenty of menthol goodness, and a excellent post shave feeling to my face... i've only used a few times since it's purchase, but after the performance today it'll be another one that will be added more regularly to future SOTD shave set ups..Superb stuff.

The W.S Premium/gillette 7'oclock s.s. matched together superbly resulting in a comfortable 3 pass + pick ups DFS with no errors to report.A very enjoyable shave.

Finishing the shave off with some generous dollop of Wilko ~ Men's Aftershave Balm.

My face is feeling smooth & smelling devine.

Pears Glycerine Soap
Proraso Sensitive Pre Shave
TOBS Coconut Shaving Cream
Yaqi Mysterious Space 26mm Tuxedo Brush
MingShi 2000s Razor (3,4,5) with a Dorco Titan
Giles Shaving Co Bowl
Alum and Rinse
Simple Facial Toner
Palmers Unfragranced Moisturiser
TOBS Bay Rum

Three passes for an absolutely BBS finish.

Up at 3 this morning due to conjunctivitis....just couldn't sleep. I will be going to work under the cover of darkness as driving into a low sun is just not an option

Tuesday 5th February

Tabac
Thater 4125/2
Blackland Vector
Schick Proline
Tabac Aftershave

Well it's my first use of the Vector, and clearly I will need a few more shaves before making a full assessment, but that was good. Very good. A touch of blade feel, very nimble - particularly under the nose - and marvellously efficient. BB smooth in two very comfortable passes. I think I can safely say that it's a keeper. Have a good day gents.
