My hiatus during No Shave November has now officially ended, and I could no longer wait to remove the beard... ..... the freshly stropped GD was commissioned to remove the 5 week old Robinson Crusoe, It's so good to be back in the den, I used the good stuff too:
Prep: Wet hot brush over face.
Brush: Zenith B03-A26 Boar
Shaving Soap: Tabac Stick
Razor: GD W53
Post shave: Tabac Balm

Enjoy your day Gentlemen and don't forget to.................

How do you find the GD? I have been looking at that one but I am concerned about the amount of work needed to get it shave ready.

Hi Brian,
The scales on this GD are a bit bulky, but other than that it's a great shaver and does the job, no problem. It was not shave ready on purchase, but got a honemeister to perfect the edge for me.

Sotd - Tuesday 5/12 -

Razor - ER Streamline (loaner)
blade - Corrux (4)
brush - Stirling 2-band fan
soap - RazoRock Emperor tallow
post - witch hazel
a/s - Fine Platinum
balm - Weleda.

Result? - todo bien.

I was confident enough with the Streamline to shave with it immediately before going to work - no margin for error. Thankfully - my confidence was not misplaced. I'm at the stage that I was 'mindful' using the razor and not absolutely paying attention to every stroke. Hours later there is not even a hint of re-growth. Very good indeed. Next year I think I will try to find one of these razors. The Emperor/Platinum combo is my favourite mock Aventus shave - the bright pineapple notes in the soap are ideal for a dark morning. If I wasn't properly awake before applying the after shave - I certainly was after. No sting - due to the quality of the shave - but there was an involuntary 'ooft' as it went on. Wide awake now. I was thinking that - when going through my software looking for inspiration this morning - I really should shave more often. My collection I'm sure is Lilliputian compared to others here - maybe about 25 to 30 tubs, plus the creams in tubes. Even without adding to it - I'm going to have to live to 100 to finish them all. Given my lifestyle this is highly unlikely. I don't need to shave every day - my employment doesn't demand it - and to be honest my favourite shaves involve taking off 4 or 5 days growth. I'll maybe try every two days for a while and see what happens. Those products aren't going to use themselves - are they? Enjoy your shaves - yours - I.
