SOTD: Saturday 29th September - Friday 5th October 2018.

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Paladin Lotus Select Badger
Soap: Martin De Candre Fougère
Razor: Blackland Blackbird
Blade: Vintage NOS Personna P74 Tungsten Steel (2)
Post: CRSW Alcohol-Free American Barbershop Moisturising Aftershave
Scent: Knize Forest EdT

Three passes for a super-close BBS. However, I had a bit of post-shave irritation. Nothing to do with the soap - the MDC lather was wonderful. More my technique, getting a bit casual after a few stellar shaves with the Blackbird.
Duly noted - respect the 'Bird.
All made better with the increasingly impressive CRSW moisturising aftershave.
The sharp pine notes of the Knize Forest EdT made a nice fougère doublet with the deep medicinal notes of the MDC soap.

How do you find the Zenith Synthetic. I have a few of their boars and a Manchurian and fancy a Synthetic to add to the set!
It's a very nice brush with quite a bit of backbone, certainly compared to my other synthetics. For me it really shines with triple milled soaps. The handle is very ergonomic and a joy to hold and use. I don't think you'd be sorry :)

Pre: Warm water face wash
Brush: LeeDa 24mm Maseto 2BF
Soap: Monsavon
Razor: Leresche 34
Blade: Polsilver Łódź
Post: Warm then cold water rinse, Razorock American Barber ASL

A very nice aluminium DE shave.
The Monsavon for me is a wonderful soap, there are still bargains to be had.
Happy Shaving one and all.

~SOTD~ October 4th

Prep ~ shower, Birch Tar Soap
Razor ~ Coloinal Razors ~ General in Brass
Blade ~ Feather Pro Super
Soap ~ London oatcake shaving soap ~ Driftwood
Brush ~ SOC Badger & Boar
Post ~ Thayers
Scent ~ Cambodian Oud Attar

Another great shave with an Oatcakesoap, this one, Driftwood has a great woodsy smoky thing going on and is very nice indeed.
A fresh blade was fitted in my General which gave me a fantastic shave, a fresh blade shave! :)
To complete the shave I applied a small amount of Cambodian Oud to my pulse points and it has lasted and evolved all day long, wonderful stuff.

Untill the next time........P. :)

Thursday AM 2018-10-04

Moss Anniversary Slate scuttle
Rooney Polo 1 Ivory Finest (24/54)
Figaro P.160 shaving soap (tallow)
Weber ARC/Wave
Wilkinson Light Brigade (3)
Penhaligon's Racquets Formula aftershave (vintage)

I like the old Figaro's lather better with a drop or two of almond fragrance oil added. The Weber razor is great with the vintage blade, with very slightly more friction than the DLC and just a tad more auditory feedback. And the Racquets Formula is an underappreciated great one.

Pre shave: Warm shower and Nivea face wash + Noxzema Shave Cream
Razor: iKon SBS
Blade: NOS Gillette Stainless - Czech Republic (#4)
Soap: Wilkinson Sword cream
Brush: Proraso boar
Bowl: Korium
Post shave: Alum block, cold water splash and Humphreys Cucumber witch hazel
AS: Lab Series Balm

SOTD Thursday 04 October 2018

Pre-shave: Warm shower, Wright's Cold Tar Soap followed by warm water splash.
Cream: Castle Forbes Lavender Shaving Cream.
Brush: Simpsons The Duke 2 Pure Badger.
Bowl: Little Wren Pottery.
Razor: Blackland Dart.
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (Day 1).
Post shave: Pitralon Classic.

A 2 pass shave, WTG, XTG face; WTG and ATG neck - DFS+/BBS - finish. No issues to report :)

For me the Blackland Dart definetly has a sweet spot, to get a smooth shave, if the shave angle is a little off it feels as if the blade is scraping rather than cutting. Today, all seemed to go to plan.

All the best,

Chris
