Shaving recipe for today.

Prep: Hot shower:/ L'OREAL~ Carbon Shower Total Action.

Pre:

warm wet flannel to my face.

Pears ~ Transparent Soap.

Brush: Yaqi ~Sagrada Familia.

Face Lather.

Cream : SuperMax Classic.

Blade: Bolzano Superinox.(5)

Razor: Wilkinson Classic Premium TTO.

Warm wet flannel/ cold wet flannel to rinse my face.

Post:

Cold Water Face Rinse.//Homemade Lavender + Tea Tree Oil Witch Hazel Mixture./ Wilko ~ Aftershave Balm.

Blue Stratos ASL.

Greetings,

It's been a while since i last added the Supermax classic shave cream to my shave set up,i forgot how good this cream performs, it's slick protective and doesn't dry out on my face and leaves my face feeling hydrated and smooth..what more can i ask for.

5th and final outing of the bolzano superinox blade, with my new W.S. Classic Premium TTO,as a rule i normally bin a blade after a maximum of 4 three pass +pick ups shaves, but this newly tried out german made italian signora has impressed me with it's longivity, it still performed with sharp smoothness, showing no signs of dragging or tugging on it's 5th outing. I'm not going to bin it yet, i'll keep it for future shaves to see if it will still perform with the same smooth efficiency. I'm now convinced it will..A superb blade, which has made the last weekend of 2018 a pleasurable experience.

Another relaxing comfortable Sunday 3 pass + pick ups BBS shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a generous splash of Blue Stratos ASL.

Enjoy the last sunday of 2018, ladies & gentlemen.

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Paladin Lotus Select Badger
Soap: The Art of Shaving (NOS Tallow)
Razor: Feather AS-D2
Blade: Vintage NOS Wilkie Light Brigade (3)
Post: Thursday Plantation Tea Tree & Witch Hazel, CRSW Alcohol-Free American Barbershop Moisturising Aftershave
Scent: Barrister & Mann Leviathan EdT

First use of the AOS soap. The performance was very good, and its characteristics seem to confirm that this soap was indeed made for AOS by Valobra (as are the Czech and Speake soaps). The scent was a gentle natural sandalwood; perhaps it has faded a little over time. Very thirsty, and intensely thick lubricious lather with excellent persistence. Three very comfortable passes for a DFS+; the Leviathan's sandalwood notes providing a nice match for the soap scent.

Prep: Hot shower with Nivea Sensitive Facewash
Pre: Proraso White pre-shave
Brush: Razorock Plissoft
Cream: TOBS Rose - bowl lathered
Razor: Rockwell 6C (R4 & R2)
Blade: Astra SP (3)
Post: Cold Water rinse
ASL: Nivea Two Phase

Still familiarising myself with the recently arrived Rockwell 6C and the relative aggression of the different plates. As I had close to 3 days' growth I decided on plate 4 for the WTG and XTG passes which worked very efficiently. Dropped down to R2 for the ATG which is a very mild setting but enough to finish a DFS as the first two passes had done most of the hard work.

So far, I've been impressed by the Rockwell. It's very smooth and the versatility of the 6 different plates means it could really be the only razor you'd ever need. The only slight niggle is that the build quality is not quite as good as my EJ DE89. The plating, while perfectly adequate, does not seem as good and the threading is not as smooth as the EJ. But these are very minor things and don't really detract from the overall experience. Seems to be a lot of razor for a reasonable price.

Have fun.

Cheers
Steve

Tabac Stick
Alu General with Claymore handle
Schick Proline [ 7 ]
Tabac A/S Lotion

Though I generally prefer heavier Razors of all types, since finding S/S handles that work with the Alu.Hawk & General, I am getting nice shaves with them, as I can now avoid the use of undue pressure.

Today I again used a Soap Stick, this time the Tabac which really does produce an effective lather that assists provision of a smooth shave. This really was an excellent Sunday Shave trouble free, with an up there close all round finish. I will be interested to assess its longevity compared to the one yesterday with the more aggressive Alu.Hawk.

This soap has a lovely classic cologne type scent, with a touch of pineapple sweetness. Had a great shave using the Gibbs No.16, first 2 passes with the: + side, followed with the: - side, for the final pass and a few touch ups .......I'm good to go!

As we enter the threshold of 2019 I would like to wish you all a Happy & Prosperous New Year[emoji1431][emoji92]

I'm going out tonight to see the Red Hot Chilli Pipers with SWMBO (it's my birthday tomorrow). I had a good shave last night but wanted to be clean and smooth tonight. I knew this would be a challenge as when I shave 2 days in a row my skin normally struggles with irritation!

I pressed on regardless and tonight used Razorock's XXX soap - a recent purchase from another forum member. The scent was pleasant but the lather was tremendous. Really rich and thick. Creamy would be a total understatement! It painted on lurverly.

I started with my 6c on plate R1 as I was really conscious about the likely irritation. At the end of the 1st pass I'd have been as well using a wet fish. There was absolutely no difference, and I was concentrating on my angle.

I moved back to my R3 plate and it was business as usual. I went with a XTG and ATG passes which had me BBS in no time.

Surprisingly there was no irritation whatsoever. A quick splash with Thayers, Xtro Mare aftershave, some Barts Balm aftershave and balm, and I'm done.

Hope you all have a great night. All the best folks! [emoji1303]

70's Sunday Shave

Wild West Brushworks "Odin"
Barrister and Mann Jacinthe Soap
1970 P4 Gillette Knack Razor
1972 S2 Gillette "The Spoiler" Blade
Barrister and Mann Jacinthe Aftershave
Nivea Cooling Post Shave Balm

Close comfortable shave today with the Gillette Knack. First time using a Spoiler blade and wasn't sure what to expect. Good performance, although I felt a bit of tugging along the neck hairs. Still irritation free though.

The B+M Jacinthe is a great product. The soap lathered quickly with the WWB Odin brush and provided a slick and cushioned shave. Great post shave feel! The Jacinthe AS did its job and the scent reminds me of a walk through a crisp, damp garden with evergreens off in the distance.
