Gillette Silver Blue (1)
PuIg Quorum Aftershave

Two days growth removed in comfort
Given the weight of the Ikon head and the stainless handle it's as easy to manoeuvre as my 6C.
Regrowth was very even from my last shave, - with the Wilkinson Sword Classic TTO razor.
I don't need to sing the praises of La Toja or Quorum - they deliver . . .

Pre/prep: Lukewarm, becoming rapidly bloody freezing shower, half-hearted scrub.
Cream: OSP Fougere, face lathered
Brush: MÜHLE Vivo black fibre
SR: Merkur 23c
Blade: Feather (2)
Post: Nivea sensitive balm and 2 Phase A/S lotion.
Scent: couldn't be arsed.

Quick 2 pass shave that was acceptable, if not very enjoyable due to the womenfolk using up all the hot water in the course of 3 lengthy, and no doubt luxuriously hot and steamy showers.

Still, I didn't slice myself up, so mustn't grumble :mad:

Damn you, central heating timer, still set to BST...:mad::mad:

I've not posted my last 2 shaves (Friday and Saturday past) as on Friday I was rushed due to going out into Glasgow, and Saturday's was really quite crap - I tried the Erasmic Shave Soap Bowl and had a really pathetic shave. The lather disappeared in seconds. However....onwards and upwards!

Tonight I had a good amount of stubble and was looking forward to a good shave. I followed by usual prep and chose my favourite Gillette Green blade. Plate 4 in the Rockwell 6c and the weapon was locked and loaded.

Looking across my ever increasing selection of soaps and creams, I selected the Wickham Buddha Wood soap as I know this always gives me a really smooth and slick lather. It didn't let me down and lathered up perfectly.

A 3 pass shave was executed without incident. By the end of my 2nd pass my face in general was BBS and there was a lovely slickness present. A great example of how good the soap is.

Finishing off with a 3rd ATG pass and it was simply near perfect. A splash of Thayers and Nivea 2 Phase and I'm smoother than smooth. My skin feels really fresh and supple.

A great shave and I'm ready for to take on the week!

Have a great night and week folks! [emoji106][emoji2532]

Greetings,

Another early morning shave, which makes my early morning autumn start pleasurable.

The blade & razor duo paired together superbly mowing through my stubble effortlessly. The merkur slant razors are a remarkable smooth efficient razor, which i highly recommend to anyone who has yet to try one.

The derby lavender cream which i haven't used for a while provided me a wonderful slick protective lather which made the shave another very enjoyable shaving experience.

A very comfortable 3 pass + pick ups near BBS silky smooth shave with errors to report.

'I'm all stocked up with halloween goodies for the witches, vampires, freddy krueger's, michael myers & other spooky things that will be paying a visit to my front door tomorrow'..

Sotd - Thursday the 25th and Sunday the 29th of October -

25/10 -

Razor - Mergress (1.5)
blade - Aussie Spoiler (13)
brush - Simpsons Chubby 1 best
soap - Faena Corinthian
post - witch hazel
a/s - Vitos Tabacco
balm - Aloe Vera.

29/10 -

razor - Mergress (1.5)
blade - Aussie Spoiler (14)
brush - Stirling 'M7' two-band fan
soap - Salter Lavender hard tallow
post - witch hazel
a/s - Quorum
balm - Weleda
scent - Quorum edt.

Result - just fine.

Although it has been nice and bright in Glasgow over the last few days - the temperature is dropping rapidly - especially during the night. The first dry cold Arctic air of the season - I know from experience that I have to take care with my skin at this time of year - keep it well moisturised - until it becomes used to the conditions. Hence the above two set-ups. I haven't used the Faena much - but I do know it works really well for me - buckets of tallow and lanolin - an intriguing scent of sweet mastic and mint - the post feel is exceptional - the company don't appear to do this version anymore - certainly the packaging has changed. Thanks again @Barry Giddens - who gifted it to me. The Salter's lavender tallow hard soap is a great product - in my opinion - doubly so at the price. A subtle scent - which dove tails beautifully with the Quorum aftershave and edt - the latter rapidly becoming a favourite for me - a 'clean linen' lavender sort of affair - underpinned with a bit of muskiness. Very good. Charmingly retro. It is a bit weird using a de razor blade this many times - @TomG - one of his vintage Gillette 'Aussie Spoilers,' - it takes a whole layer of deciding what you are going to shave with out the process - there's the razor - get on with it. I still can detect no loss of performance - astonishing really. So job done - excellent shaves - that suited their purpose. The scents I reach for will start to shift - less citrus - onto warmer notes - I do reserve the right to break out the Denali and Alcolado Glacial the first time it snows - ha ha - willfully perverse I know.

Enjoy your shaves - one and all - yours - I.
Glad you are enjoying the Aussie Spoilers, Iain. For those interested, here are the antipodean blighters in the flesh:
