I like the look/sound of that handle and knot combo. I can feel a little project coming on. Love the handle on my Vulfix: not 100% convinced about the knot.

Morning shave.

Olive Oil Soap
Wickhams 1912 Classic 24
Chubby 2 Best Badger
Gillette Fatboy
NOS Personna Star (3)
Thayers Witch Hazel (unscented)
Fine Platinum Aftershave
Creed Aventus

Well I scratched an itch and treated myself to a Chubby 2. And I'm really pleased that I did. Face lathering with this beauty was quite some experience. The Personna blade is improving with use. It was good on it's first run, but today's shave was extremely smooth and very efficient. I had planned a leisurely 3 pass shave but was pretty much done after 2. Which was a shame really as I had enough soap in the brush for around 6 passes. So I'm refreshed and very smooth. I probably smell quite nice too but I have a stinker of a cold and can't smell a bloody thing. Have a great weekend gents.

A couple of firsts today.
Thanks again to @Barry Giddens for the soap :).
It took me a while to dial this soap in, I think it was on the lash last night because it had a raging thirst.
Once dialed in its an excellent performer but a bit of an enigma, whilst shaving the scent is very subdued and there's a fatty undertone, once rinsed though the scent comes alive - very strange. A pity because the scent is really nice and would be enjoyable during the shave.
I only gave the brush two days of the fridge treatment as I didn't know how the badger hair would react and it's a bit scritchy but not uncomfortably so and I think/hope it'll break in nicely.
Anyway, please excuse the rambling and have a great weekend.

My brush has broken in very well and quickly too so I don't think you will have anything to worry about K. P. :)

Simpsons Milk Churn
Rockwell 6S
Gillette Super Silver (3)
Stirling Soaps Ozark Mountain
Thayers Rose, Nivea Balm & Cerutti 1881 Men

A super shave with the Rockwell and vintage blade, I think this blade has some legs in it yet. The Simpsons and whatever soap is shown it hasn't failed yet. Love this scent, beautiful! I went with Nivea today as I am wearing a white t shirt and the BBA marks, only negative with the stuff, the colour!

Brush: Omega Baby Pro
Razor: Merkur 37c
Blade: Polsilver
Soap: Arko (Grated)
Post: Proraso Balm
Aftershave: Pitralon (Swiss)

Second outing for the Merkur 37c; In use it feels different to my RR 37 on a bulldog and my previous 39c; I think because I am use to a heavier handle. I used a little more pressure than yesterday and got a better shave as a result but with slightly more irritation than I would prefer. I still need to dial the razor in. I find the Merkur Slant works great for me with Feathers and I will switch out the Polsilver. The Omega Baby Pro is a great brush that always makes me smile and the Arko is superb. Finished with some Proraso Balm and some healing Swiss Pitralon.

Santa Maria Novella Tabacco Toscana
RazoRock BC Silvertip 24mm
Face lather
Gillette Old
Astra SP
Thayer's Cucumber and Aloe Vera
Alt-Innsbruck EdC

A new week; so I thought I'd have a bash with some non-tallow soaps: starting with the best in my collection. Worth every penny (well, Euro at time of purchase), it gives a rich, thick, protective lather; and the scent is just amazing. It has a lovely cooling menthol touch too.

When I started this shaving/fragrance lark, I used to avoid anything that stated ‘tobacco' in the list of olfactory expectations. But, in most cases, I think reference is being made to the flowers; or maybe the weed before it is being burnt/smoked.

Whatever, this is a killer soap, imo, and gives the perfect lather for the Old; which, incidentally, gives a great shave. Pretty good for a razor nearly one hundred years old.

Alt-Innsbruck to compliment the soap and all's well.

Squadron Red Lead
Gentleman's Tonic Super Badger
Shaving Shack Journeyman
Gillette Silver Blue
Bart's Rosemary & Sandalwood Aftershave lotion.

All these just provided me with a nigh on perfect shave. The razor is The Shaving Shack own make (not sure who makes it for them) but this is a 'factory second' which costs £9.99. Bargain. Its slightly more aggressive than an EJ DE89 but loaded with a decent blade it gives an excellent shave. The soap is superb (cheers Sid!) and I can't praise Bart's Balm product enough. What a great start to a day off!

Soho Joe Original Face Wash
Maseto 30mm silvertip
D R Harris Arlington soap
F.Herder Abr Sohn 6/8
A little alum, and
L'Oreal Men Expert Post Shave Balm

Three passes today - took my time and went ATG where possible on the third. This thing has an awesome edge from Billy, and has left me with an overall DFS, although most areas are BBS. Lovely shave.

Enjoy your weekend guys
