Omega 10015
iKon 102
Supermax Blue Diamond Titanium (2)
Phoenix and Beau Borealis
Thayers Rose, Nivea Balm & Rasoirs Darwin aftershave (sample)

Absolutely loving these blades, I sometimes find this razor a wee bit harsh but smooth and comfortable today. I am impressed with the Supermax. Lovely scent on the soap and a great lather. Got around to trying a sample of Rasoirs Darwin aftershave that I was kindly given when I purchased my Leresche razor, to me very nice scent. Reminds me very much of Phoenix and Beau Albion, I think they would work well together. Maybe a potential purchase in the future. Very cool how the owner repurposes dishes and vessels (not with pestles) to sell on with their soap (made by Le Pere Lucien).

Razor: Olaf Rasmussen Surgical Prep
Blade: Shark SS
Brush: Omega 011829
Soap: Old Spice (Shulton)
Post: Old Spice (Shulton)

As much as I would like to be objective about vintage Old Spice (Shulton) shaving soap and aftershave I am sure cognitive dissonance adds its own particular lens. That said, I still think Shulton nailed it with their soap and aftershave; I now have my very own time machine. The Omega 011829 is a superb boar brush and gives me much joy. The Olaf Rasmussen surgical prep DE also hits the sweet spot for me. A sublime shave this morning. I think I may have travelled as far as I want to with Wet Shaving; very happy with my different set-up's at the moment.

You have to buy one or at least use one to understand that, it's so ingrained in forum folk law that the Kenk Bk 8 and 12 are useless floppy things but as you have found out for yourself it's simply not true is it! :) P.

Indeed Paul, in fact I reckon my old BK4 was floppier than this... Similar knot/loft ratio so must be due to the difference in density I guess.

Nice one, cheers.:)

Anytime Rob  This is my only brush at the moment (how on earth did I end up with only one!?) So I'll be getting to know it very well.

Thursday 25th January

Olive Oil soap and RSC Facial Scrub
Somersets Sensitive Shave Oil (Preshave)
De Vergulde Hand Shaving Soap
Vie-Long/Faux Horse hair Brush
Star 1912 Pattern Razor with a shimmed GEM SS Blade
Alum Block and Rinse
Men-U Moisturiser
4711 EDC

An early afternoon shave after Night Duty. Not much to shave off after yesterday's shave......but I just had to follow the Daily Routine.

2 passes to return me to a super smooth condition:)

Thur 25th Jan

RazoRock Plissoft 24mm
Stirling Baker Street
Alu. General + S/S Handle
Feather Pro [ 5 ]
Alum Rub/Rinse Off
Tuff Green A/S Lotion

Quite some time since I used this Razor. I like it more with this handle borrowed from my Claymore, the extra heft suits me . Found the Shave quite smooth, but somehow did not get
the quality of finish that I expected. Perhaps lulled into thinking it was was good as the Razor is very smooth, next time will clean up and feel for stubble and if required do further work.

Pre: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Castle Forbes pre-shave gel
Brush: DR Harris H3 Best Badger
Soap: OSP Barber Shop
Razor: Ever Ready 1912
Blade: Ted Pella Gem SS (1)
Post: Myrsol Emulsion
EdT: Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet

First shave with a GEM style razor. Three passes for a DFS+. I was very careful to avoid pressure, and with the benefit of hindsight, was probably a little too cautious with my initial WTG pass. Hence, a little too much compensating pressure on the next two passes, with a slightly "scraped" feel to the face, and a couple of weepers. The Ted Pella blade was pretty smooth, and those whiskers of mine stood no chance whatsoever.
A shout out to @Blademonkey and @Wayne Pritchard for advice regarding these Razors and blades - much appreciated, lads.
I've got to say that I'm happy with my first shave. No doubt there is room for improvement with my technique in both pressure and finding the angle with this razor.

Congrats, and welcome to the 1912 experience.

Blade: Schick #5
Razor: PAL Adjustable "R" Aggressive
Soap: Tallow & Steel Boreal
Brush: Annbus Boar
Post: Thayers Witch Hazel Lavender
Splash: Caldey Lavender
EDT: L'Occitane CADE

Two Passes with a little Buffering to bring me back to a lovely smooth finish.

The Annbus boar is a lovely weighted brush and is proving to be a little stubborn to break in but it whipped up a glorious lather with the T&S.

Enjoy your Shaves! :)

Welcome to the club Tom. :)
As soon as you hit the sweet spot I am sure you won't look back. ;)

Enjoy! :)
