SOTD ,SATURDAY 19th JANUARY 2019 - FRIDAY 25th January 2019.

Williams Wednesday- 23rd Jan.

Omega 11126 boar
Williams Mug soap
Mongoose B3
Schick Proline [ 8 ]
Williams Aqua Velva A/S Lotion

I started this rotation with my lightweight AC/SE razors, and am now on the Heavy Weights. Today I am with the Mongoose which works well for me, I can use that weight to whisk away the heavy growth, and also use it with a very light touch to do the polishing up work need to get a really close finish. In fact today I ended up with a Mid -Week Face Stroker, can I possibly attribute that to the Williams :).

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: M&F Brad Sears L7 Tigris Finest Badger
Soap: I Coloniali
Razor: ATT SE1 / UFO Tornado
Blade: Schick Proline P-30 (6)
Post: Thursday Plantation Tea Tree & Witch Hazel, CRSW Alcohol-Free American Barbershop Moisturising Aftershave
Scent: APR Festivus

I often find lathering this soap a little difficult, so I utilised the "take no prisoners" M&F Tigris. I find this soap very thirsty, so it was a slow lather build, but worth it, with plenty of excellent lather for three passes. I'm now BBS and my face feels great. In my opinion, the strongest suite of this soap is its post shave - right up there with the very best.
The ATT SE1 and Schick Proline blade are such a terrific combination that I often forget to even mention them - they work beautifully together.

And for today the theme for my shave was 'Teddy Bears pick-nicks'

Oh dear oh dear. Ever since the rise of the 'Queen of Clean' Marie Kondo, it appears the whole world wants to put everything in to boxes. Even my wife's teddy bears have been demoted to now being 'a box of teddy bears'. The poor little souls. Once free to fall off the bedside cabinet (involuntarily) they are now confined to being chastised in a cardboard container.

Big Ted - Ikon B1 SB
Little Ted - Polsilver Lodz
John's fucking Ted - Muhle ivory synthetic
Ted Heath - Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet shaving cream
Ted Kennedy - Nivea for Men intense moisturiser
Ted Roosevelt - Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet Cologne

So today my shave was dedicated to teddy bears gathering in a box, but what a shave it was. After my recent experience (and not a very good one) with a straight the aggressive Ikon B1 SB has become a fluffy little teddy of a razor, a fluffy little snarling teddy with big claws and sharp teeth, but what a truly wonderful bit of kit it is. A full three passes, zero nicks and zero anything else not welcome on my face. The only fluff remaining belonging to the teddy sitting there (captive in a box and can do naff all else) (it because I am unsure as to the sexual gender) giving a little wry smile as if to say 'hey you smooth sexy creature'. Creature being a very apt description.

This was a first time out for the Penhaligons Blenheim Bouquet shaving cream and I am rather impressed. A really lovely thick lather with a background hint of lemon breaking through and offering a great medium between face and blade. It is however very much in the same tone as the matching Cologne and has a short longevity (is that a shortevity?) which could be measured in minutes, and not many of them. This side of the Blenheim is a real let down for me as beneath is a lovely fresh scent dying for attention. Unfortunately its attention span barely sees the shower room door and the bottom of the stairs if sufficient is applied or one runs quick enough. Forget about it sharing the same pillow.

I forgave the usual L'Occitane Cade aftershave balm as it is just too strong and would easily overwhelm the Bouquet so on this occasion a more neutral moisturiser was the order of the day and Nivea it was. As a moisturiser I really can't say anything negative and very suited towards my skin type. At £3 a bargain if ever and so I bought quite a few at the time.

So a great shave was had and I look forward to retiring to bed feeling clean, refreshed and with a face smoother than my granddaughters bottom. She would probably disagree and of course she would be correct. She is after all the first girl in my side of the family for a 105 years so she can say whatever she wants and I'll believe it.

Have a great evening all you well shaven chaps and for God sake don't let your partners watch too much of Marie Kondo otherwise you will be living the same receptacle torture as I am having to endure.

Ps. I am going to persevere with the straight and I do look forward to the day when my SOTD can include a razor not being an SE or a DE
