I had a cracking shave this evening. The Baskerville is a tremendous soap and another tallowate one that just seems to bring out the best in my AC.

Very little protest from the alum and feeling smooth. Practice is paying off.

Sotd - 21/3/18

Shower/Prep - Agua Lavanda Puig soap
razor - Cobra Classic
blade - Schick Proline (2)
brush - Chubby One best
soap - Ach Brito Lavanda cream
post - witch hazel
a/s - Tabac
balm - Bart's Lavender lotion.

Result - well, paint me purple and call me Susan - what a shave.

A further slide down the slippery slope of my growing lavender dependency. I think I have a problem. There will come a day that I'm lying to you all here to cover up my addiction - 'great sandalwood shave today gents,' as I tidy away the Salter tallow, glancing over my shoulder furtively. I was looking forward to trying the Portuguese Ach Brito Lavanda cream - it didn't disappoint - performance and scent - for me - were way above a soap costing less than £5 a tube. I'd go as far as to say that it has the lavender scent that I have most liked - so far. Very spicy and medicinal. The matching Lavanda splash shall be mine - oh yes! The parent company also owns other 'old school' brands - Confianca and Claus Porto, among others. A Lusitanian La Toja or Alvarez y Gomez if you will - they've been doing it for generations too. Given all the lavender products used tonight I'm so relaxed that I am having trouble keeping my head from dropping onto the keyboard - it does have a therapeutic effect for me. Still very much enjoying the - new to me Chubby One - a gem for face lathering. Precise - a nice dense knot - but it's a Chubb - what else would it be? It will be interesting to find out just how much the knot spreads out over time. Zzzzzzzzzzzz - enjoy your shaves gentlemen - yours - I.

I have to say I love lavender too and as soon as Gemstone have the Agua Lavander Puig soap back in stock I shall be ordering some.
I have a shed load of Dalan Olive oil soap with lavender which is very good indeed. Enjoy your relaxing evening:) P.

Pre: Gillette Series Irritation Defense Face Wash

After two shaves, I've come to the conclusion that this razor and blade combination doesn't work for me. Very rough. No fault can be attached to the soap which being mindful of the fact that it needs lots of water, but gradually, lathered perfectly.

And the theme for this evening was 'The Lech Wałęsa shave. A Polish Ikon'

Ikon SB/ATT Colossus handle
Polsilver (Lodz)
Muhle silvertip synthetic
Gentlemen's Tonic cream
L'Occitane Cade balm
Maison Francis Kurkdjian Aqua Vitae forte EDP

uc

The Ikon SB is quite definitely the most viciously aggressive razor in my cabinet and I often shy away from using it in favour of my obsessive love for R89's. Used daily for the past week this really is one wonderful piece of kit and I would be hard pushed to find anything to match its ability to shift stubble. Good God it is still shifting bristles long after they have been removed. The 89 may have that 'safe' appeal, but the SB has that 'live a bit more dangerous and relish in the results' aspect. I do think the Polsilver's are a more suitable blade for the Ikon than my past fad Feathers.

The Gentleman's Tonic is just simply brilliant. The brush everything I want a brush to do. The Polsilver's because Blademonkey sent me some samples and they changed my view of what a good blade is. Cade because it does wonders for my skin type and the MFK EDP because it has a sodding long name to match its longevity.....and just happens to be a heaven sent scent.

Greetings,

This weeks SOTD's are some the best i've had to date,i've had irritation-free comfortable shaves all week, today was yet again another excellent shave. The Erasmic soap bowl, i have to say performed better than the pecksniff classic cream in my previous SOTD. suberb slickness & protection... The razor /blade duo performed with sheer smoothness cutting through my stubble with no effort at all.
A very enjoyable 3 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report, yet again.

Finishing the shave off with a generous splash of benjamins ~ Mentholated Bay Rum a/s & a few liberal squirts of lynx~ dark temptation edt to the chest & pulse points.

I'm now ready for whatever work will throw at me...'Bring it on'!

Enjoy your day, ladies & gentlemen.
