SOTD Tuesday 20 November 2018 :)

Pre-shave: Warm shower, Musgo Real Classic Glycerin Oil Soap, followed by warm water splash.
Soap: Martin de Candre Fougere.
Brush: Simpsons The Duke 2 Pure Badger.
Bowl: Little Wren.
Razor: Muhle Rocca Jet.
Blade: Gilette Silver Blue (Day 3).
Post shave: D.R. Harris Face Tonic, Aloe Vera Gel and a decent splash of Floid Vigoroso.

A bit of a sleep in this morning, a one pass shave with the Muhle Jet; a DFS finish with no issues to report. One pass was all that was needed; I had a very good 2 pass shave on Monday with excellent results; the same set-up as today, with the exception of the OSP Lavender soap.

Theree shaves in with the v3 Rocca; to my mnd this appears to be slightly more efficient, compared with V1; I am assuming that there is less blade chatter.

The star of the shave today was the Martin de Candre a lovely lather, felt great on the skin!

All the best,

Chris

SOTD 20/11

Pre Shave: Face wash with Bulldog Face Wash
Soap: OSP Sandalwood
Brush: Semogue 830 Boar / 22mm Tuxedo
Blade: New Old Stock Gillette Stainless Red (2)
Razor: Merkur Progress 500
Bowl: Giles Shaving Co. Pedestal Bowl
Post: DIY mix of Witch Hazel / Aloe Vera

Yup, you read right a shave using two brushes.... Never got on with the Semogue, it eats lather and it's never produced a good lather for me irrespective of what soap/cream I've tried it with. After the first pass, and the lather for that one wasn't the best thin and airy, I pulled the soap out the knot went back to the bowl with the soap remnants the Semogue had left me and knocked up another lather that was totally different - the bowl certainly helped as did the switch to a synthetic knot....

20 November

PreShave: Warm water
Cream: Trumper's Rose
Brush: Kent BK8
Bowl: My recycled cream bowl
Razor: The Sledgehammer
Blade Feather (4)
Post Shave: Alum

Fragrance: None—a work day, but Floris 71/72 went on when I came home

I really like this cream, good noticeable, but not too strong, scent. It lubricates the face well. Four is my usual number of shaves with one blade, but I'll try to push the Feather. It seemed sharp and smooth today.
