Wonderful shave this morning, every part combined to create an effective, effortless whole. I love the scent of the Steampunk soap and I also have a soft spot for the Feather AS-D1 which was my first and (almost) only expensive stainless steel razor.
I bought one of those at the same time as one of the original Ikons. I used the Ikon first......and because of the reported mildness of the Feather....never even took it out of the box. Now that I am appreciating milder razors....I MUST give it a try!

Moss Anniversary Slate scuttle
Rooney 2/1 Ivory Finest (22/56)
XPEC Unscented shaving cream (first version)/Bulgarian Rose EdP
Weber DLC/Bulldog
Gillette Platinum 'Swede' (3)
Floris Santal aftershave
Floris Rose Geranium EdT (vintage)

The old XPEC makes incredible lather, and the DLC is extremely smooth. I really like the combination of sandalwood and rose scents, and the EdT added a nice green touch too.

Pre-shave: Warm water
Cream: Trumper's Violet
Brush: Kent BK8
Bowl: My recycled T&H cream bowl
Razor: Mekur 39C
Blade: Feather
Post-shave: Alum

Fragrance: Floris Jermyn Street

I was in London during the week, and picked up a tube of Trumper's Violet. I must say that I'm a bit (just a bit, though) disappointed with it. The scent is a bit weak, in comparison with their rose. But it lubricated my face quite well (which is the point, I suppose). I also picked up a tube of their Spanish Leather—I'll work that into the rotation this week.

17/11/18

Brush - Zenith B07
Soap - Vitos Red Coco
Razor - Gillette UK Tech
Blade - Gillette Wilkinson Sword (8)
Post - Witch Hazel
Balm - Nivea Cooling
Splash - Superdrug Sierra Breeze

It's taken more than a few shaves to get accustomed to the Zenith B07, which until recently I struggled to get a good lather with mainly down to it being floppier than the other boar brushes I own but now that I have the technique sorted it's a delight to use.
The GWS blade is a delight to use once it has a few shaves with it, the 8th was possibly the most smoothest and most enjoyable it has been so far.

First try with the One Blade Core today and I'm not quite sure what to make of it. The positive was that it was more efficient than I expected and the negative was that it felt as cheap as a Feather Popular in use. There wasn't enough feedback for my liking and overall I felt a bit underwhelmed. I'm pretty sure I'll get used to it. It certainly hasn't knocked a Valet VB2 off of top spot in the FHS-10 razor list for me. [emoji846]

SOTD Saturday 17 November 2018 :)

Pre-shave: Warm bath; Epsom salt soak, followed by warm water splash.
Soap: Martin de Candre Fougere.
Brush: Simpsons The Duke 2 Pure Badger.
Bowl: Little Wren.
Razor: Rockwell 6S (Plate 4).
Blade: Fearher (Day 2).
Post shave: Rosemary water - Ljekarna Male Braće, Dubrivnik.

A superb three pass shave today; the Epsom salt bath is a great prep. Its been a while since I have shaved with the Rockwell 6S - very smooth and efficient.

The Rosemary water is amazing - I picked some up when on holiday in Croatia - its sold by the world's oldest chemist in Dubrivnik.

I can't wait for tomorrow's shave; I was very lucky and managed to pick up a Muhle Rocca Jet from the Gentlemans Groom Room Dundee, this morning. It looks amazing. I understand that this is a "v3" Rocca design: the cap and baseplate have a different blade locking mechanism; this looks like the blade will be more firmly locked - not that I have every had a problem with the orginal Rocca.

I hope all is well with everyone,

All the best,

Chris

Omega 11126 boar
Cyril Salter Solid Soap
Schick J3- Golden 500
Schick Single S/S -Japan [ 4 ]
Pitralon Polar A/S Lotion

Despite it being a mild Razor I find the Golden 500 deals well with my harsh beard, It is rather a laid back Shave as there seems no danger of mishap even if your attention wanders. I can get avery nice close all round finish, and the extra work in attaining it causes no irritate. In fact after the Shave my skin felt refreshed after using the CS soap, and there was no real need for any post Shave applications, but one gets into the habit of doing so.

Shaving recipe for today.

Prep: Hot shower:/ L'OREAL~ Hydra Sensitive Birch Sap Shower Gel.

Pre:

warm wet flannel to my face.

Pears ~ Transparent Soap. / Bloom water.

Brush: Frank Shaving ~ Synthetic .

Face Lather.

Soap : Williams Mug Shaving Soap.

Blade: Gillette 365 Stainless .(2)

Frankenrazor: Yaqi DOC Head / Schmidt Handle R10.

Warm wet flannel/ cold wet flannel to rinse my face.

Post:

Cold Water Face Rinse.//Homemade Lavender + Tea Tree Oil Witch Hazel Mixture./ Brut ~ Oceans ASL.

Boots ~ Freshwood A/S Balm.

Greetings,

A nice relaxing 3 pass + pick ups shave with no errors to report.

Since i've re-introduced myself to the Williams Mug Shaving Soap, i've had some wonderful slick lathers, and a excellent post shave feeling to my face.

The yaqi 'DOC' head on first appearance looks extremely aggressive, but looks are very deceiving sometimes,it's a wonderfully smooth non-aggressive head, however like any razor either aggressive or non-aggressive, if not treated with respect it'll bite you.

Out of all the frankenrazors i've mixed & matched this is one of my favourites..The weight of the schmidt handle gives it a good heft, this could easily be my daily shave razor as it's non-aggressive, but at the same time gives a comfortable DFS/near BBS, and seems to like every blade choice i've matched it up so far... What more could i ask for.

Finishing the shave off with a generous dollop of Boots ~ Freshwood A/S balm.

Enjoy your sunday, ladies & gentlemen.

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Semogue Owners Club Boar
Soap: Boellis Panama 1924
Razor: Pils 101NE
Blade: Vintage NOS Gillette Bleue Extra (3)
Post: CRSW Alcohol-Free American Barbershop Moisturising Aftershave
Scent: DR Harris Traditional Cologne

It is always a treat to shave with the luxurious Boellis Panama soft soap. Very slick indeed, making shaving a delight.
My Semogue Owners Club Boar brush has bloomed nicely after being in the rotation for over a year, and is a top performer.
Two passes and a couple of clean-up strokes for a DFS.
