Superb shave with the Racer blade, these are made by Lord and I suspect this blade is just a rebranded Lord Platinum Class, which is one of my favourite blades. I have a few packs of these but will only buy more if they are cheaper than the Lord Platinum Class.

Even though I like all the blades coming out of the Lord factory, my favourite of their is the Platinum Class. I think there's a chance the Crown Platinum Class blade might be the same one as well.

Brush - Yaqi Fan Tux 26mm
Soap - Vitos Green
Razor - Lord L6
Blade - Lord Platinum (4)
Post - Superdrug Forest Fresh

Somewhere else on this forum someone said Superdrug's Foresh Fresh aftershave has a scent associated with an aftershave associated with a grandfather and today my nose did pick up on such a suggestion. I'm too young for that kind of stuff but I like the aftershave nonetheless.

Oddly enough the 4th shave with the Lord Platinum seemed to be the best so far.

A few times using the Yaqi Fan Tux and I'm really impressed with it. Not a huge amount of backbone, a bit on the floppy side of things but it's very easy and comfortable to make a lather with.

Omega 11137 boar

ATT SE-G1,V2
Gem S/S [ 2 ]
Alum Rub/Rinse off
Jaguar Prestige A/S Lotion

My second Shave with the ATT SE-GI. Initial clearance goes well, the problem arises when doing final clearance. I found it best to reduce the lather , so that it is minimal with the skin surface slippery enough to allow the razor to find the whiskers. The Razor is IMHO v.mild and also incredibly smooth, with a narrow angle of attack so that with too much lather it slides but does not bite.

I did with a considerable amount of polishing and buffing to get pretty decent close all round Shave. I am not convinced ATT have got it right for those with tougher beards. Will have a Shave with a Vintage SE razor to compare things, but my initial views are that in the Old v New battle, the former will win.

This begs the questions:
How mild was V1?
Is V2 milder than the Sabre V1?
Hi Kevin,
In the limited time that I have used it I find the ATT G. V2 to be better than the Sabre V1. I thought that the ATT with its reputation would have got it right with a second plate, but does not work well for me so far. Perhaps that is why it's use does not figure on US forums, yet the few who use it are fine with it. Mind you I struggle to get a decent Shave with the Supply Se V1. Going back to a Streamline tomorrow.
Cheers-Mike
PS See what I got in acquisitions.

Prep: Cold Water with Bulldog face wash
Razor: J.A.Henkels Friodur 72.5 (On Loan)
Brush: Stirling Boar
Soap: S.V. 70th Anniversary
Post: Floid Balm
EDT: 4711

To top off my week our boiler has decided to pack in so my only option today is to have a cold water shave.
To be honest I quite enjoyed it.

2 full passes achieved with several touch ups has left me BBS in most places. A couple of nicks to the chin for my troubles but nothing a little alum couldn't sort out. I am really enjoying my voyage with a straight razor and am committed to mastering it. One day. :)

First use of my newly acquired brush and I am very impressed. The weight and ergonomics of the handle is sublime. I can see a few split hairs already. Really looking forward to the day it is fully broken in.

Soap lathered to a beautiful thick and slick consistency. Scent matches well with the 4711 IMO.

Applied alum and the excellent balm that absorbs really well into the skin after several minutes.

Finished with the lovely fresh 4711.

Enjoy your shaves! :)

An excellent shave with a sweet almond theme, reminding me of the wonderful cookies I used to get at a Swedish restaurant at this time of year when I was a kid.

Razor: Fatip Piccolo
Blade: Racer Super Class Platinum (#2)
Brush: Kent BLK4
Soap: Phoenix & Beau Pall Mall (Prototype sample)
Bowl: Recycled from a Chinese Take Away Meal - It even has a lid!
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Thayers Lavender Witch Hazel
AS: Nivea Soothing Balm

Another Superb shave with the Racer blade, even better than yesterdays shave with the iKon 101. Today was super smooth and super close.

I must be honest that after the initial shock from the freezing cold water here I started to really enjoy it.
I have no option at the moment but the shave was very good. :)
I don't know whether it was a coincidence with, say, an improvement in technique; but after about a year of cold water inter-pass face and razor rinsing, I can't remember the last time I got any neck irritation/rash.

It is something I definitely want to pursue.
As I said after the initial shock the cold water gave me no problems. The lather worked well and had plenty of slickness. Its difficult for me to compare with warm water at the moment but by the sounds of it I am going to be without hot water until after Christmas so I will have plenty of time to get used to it.

Evening shave.

BBA Face Wash
Vitos Red
Semogue 1305
Little Wren Pottery
Brass General
Proline (4)
Fine L'Orange Noir Aftershave
BBA Post Shave Balm

My skin feels a little raw occasionally through the winter. But the combination of the Vitos soap and the wonderfully smooth Proline in the General resulted in two very comfortable passes. Throw in a dab of the BBA balm and my skin actually looks and feels better than it did before the shave. I'm sure I never said that when I was using carts and gunk from a can. Excellent.
