Prep: Warm rinse with Nivea Sensitive Face Wash then Proraso Sensitive Pre Shave cream
Cream: Executive Shaving Company Natural
Brush: Executive Shaving Medium Jock synthetic
Razor: Gillette Fatboy
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (2)
Post: Cold rinse, Thayers Witch Hazel with Cucumber followed by Proraso Aftershave balm Eucalyptus and Menthol.

Having experienced the least expensive shave last night, it was commented upon by SWMBO that I had a noticeable shadow when I got home from work today. I must admit that I did feel a bit Desperate Dan-ish.

Up to the bathroom and the weapon of choice jumped out. The Gillette Fatboy (on borrowed time with the PIF) which still had the Gillette Silver Blue blade.

A quick rinse and wash with Nivea face wash followed with a liberal amount of Proraso Sensitive pre shave.

Using my new lathering bowl I threw in a dot of ES Natural cream and lathered up with a wet brush. This bowl makes lathering absolutely effortless now, with a good creamy consistency reached in less than a minute. A touch more water and I was off.

Pass 1 WTG and the razor on setting 4. The glide was great with no drag. Just smooth.

Pass 2 XTG keeping the razor on setting 4. This time I really pushed by chin upwards stretching my neck. This seemed to make a positive difference with a noticeable amount of stubble present in the lather on the razor.

Pass 3 ATG keeping the setting at 4. No complaints and a BBS finish.

Rinse, Thayers and splatter of Proraso Aftershave balm. Done. A nice fresh and soothing shave which was a huge improvement on last night. Far more enjoyable and a more relaxing finish.

The Fatboy will be moving on soon and I'm defo going to miss it. It's a fantastic razor. I'll keep my eyes open for any bargains that may appear in the BST.

Have a great night folks. [emoji1360]

Sotd - Monday 17th of September -

Razor - Mergress (1.5)
blade - Aussie Spoiler (3)
brush - Yaqi two-band Moka
soap - Lea Classic - old tallow formulation
post - witch hazel
a/s - Lea Classic
balm - Barts Peppermint lotion.

Result - nice relaxed evening shave - the perfect antidote to the day.

I apparently hadn't noticed before leaving the flat today - that the International Association of Stupid People - affiliated with the Royal Society for the Prevention of Common Sense - recently re-branded as IdiotsUK - are holding their annual conference in Glasgow this week. How do so many f**kwits get to adulthood? You would have thought that natural selection - a la the Darwin Awards - would have removed their genes from the pool before now? Apparently not. Also - are they so stupid - well yes I guess they are - to piss off a future Ruler of the World? They all went straight onto my list of people that have fecked me off - first against the wall - when I seize the means of production and supreme executive control for the planet. It's only a week or so since I decided that I really ought to be in charge - but the list is growing at an alarming rate. What is it with getting older that makes you more misanthropic? - you would have thought that you would mellow out as the years pass - greater experience brings a sense of understanding - easily given forgiveness - nope - not in my case. Thinking about it - I'm not that comfortable with the idea of having people shot at my order - maybe just have them shipped in batches to the Outback - with instructions to poke highly venomous snakes with a stick? Nature will out? Didn't do Steve Irwin any harm? - ah yes - hadn't thought that through - run Terri run! Sorry - that had nothing to do with shaving - I promise the next bit will -

Home alone quality mimsy shave this evening - started off in fine style - with a large dram of Welsh whisky - who'd of thought - never tried it before - it is superb. The Spoiler is getting into it's stride now - felt confident in turning down the razor half a notch - an extremely close shave but mild on the skin. Very good. Hadn't used the Lea Classic for a while - excellent stuff - I always forget how much menthol there is in it - it builds and builds - through the shave. We are not talking Mint Ice Menthol or Denali here - but certainly noticeable. I'm really glad that I bought a couple of the tallow versions of the Classic before Lea changed to a vegetarian formula - as they did with their shave sticks - I have used both iterations - and find the animal fat version to be superior - you may find different. Each to their own. The new ones are still good hard soaps by any standard though. Connaught sell the tallow sticks - made by Lea - but rebranded for the Valencia brush maker Vie Long - if you fancy comparing - the latter is my go-to wash kit soap. A generous splash of the matching Classic after shave - always a nice involuntary 'ooft' from the alcohol in it. A surprisingly persistent scent for a product in its category. Barts Peppermint - to seal the minty deal. Job done - bbs in two passes. I hope all your shaves are as good as that was for me - yours - I.

I may have one that does not get much use as I tend to use Vintage & Modern SE, I will Pm you if it is a Fatboy and not a Slim. I sell items to forum members at a price equating to what I paid., and expect purchasers to buy them for personal use and not with view to making a profit.

[emoji830]️Oatcake “Driftwood” Shaving Soap
Second round with Oatcake soaps and first use of the Driftwood flavour. On the scent front, it's a diverse blend of woody notes and has a subtle sweetness lingering in the background. It's amazing how the scent of something can take you back in time or remind you of a certain Nostalgia. The scent of Driftwood takes me back to my childhood when I used to spend time at the wooded playground with the play safe bark chippings scattered everywhere on the floor. This soap has great performance as I have come to expect. Great dense creamy lather, good protection and an excellent post shave feel, another quality shave obtained.
